Is that true? I thought countries with vast Indian immigrants USA/UK/Canada were more likely to be second.

True, also cannot discount places like Bali and South East Asia. But I meant as far as complete removal from subcontinent people (even by origin). There is no critical mass of non-subcontinent origin people anywhere else like that found in Russia (and its appreciable given there are no flowover effects like what happens in UK/US/Canada from big indian diaspora).

The work of ISCKON in USSR during the 80s must not be under-appreciated in this. They really set up the groundwork for it.

I'm sure Russia will soon exceed even the Indian diaspora places in next 10 - 20 years since it is actively growing in Russia without much help or aid from a large Indian diaspora.
