Aerial view of a small village along KKH. Jaglot , Gilgit Balistan. From a height, the green village amongst barren hills looks like a river flowing.

Nightmare incase of floods, why do people have to live everywhere.
I think the flow of the water is well contained at the top but what really amazes me is how these people might travel to the nearest town or city and how long would it take them to get there.Extremely Beautiful...…. And extremely dangerous on the same time..

I'm just disappointed that people destroy such beautiful places by settling there.I think the flow of the water is well contained at the top but what really amazes me is how these people might travel to the nearest town or city and how long would it take them to get there.
exactly thats what i think when i see people living in remote mountainous areas.Nightmare incase of floods, why do people have to live everywhere.
Should start a massive urbanization movement, but first we need to get our cities in order.exactly thats what i think when i see people living in remote mountainous areas.
That's not an issue, the roads are there and Jaglot is on way to Gilgit not too far away, plus it's not like a remote village, it's on the way.I think the flow of the water is well contained at the top but what really amazes me is how these people might travel to the nearest town or city and how long would it take them to get there.
If floods were an issue we'd evacuate most of the villages there.Nightmare incase of floods, why do people have to live everywhere.

Jaglot is a nice place, got a bit of family there. Yes it's known for it's river and Walnut, the river is spectacular and the bridge over it is quite fine too.

True, it's dangerous but it's home to many people. Hunza is far more dangerous but people live there we need to control on deforestation and build reservoirs, we can control floods. Land sliding is a more serious issue there.
@bananarepublic , bhai tell them about Hunza.
I didn't know, other than the Attabad incident have we had other such major changes?Someone who knows Shimshal bemisal nice ....
Dr.Herman who has researched about Hunza told us that there is nothing permanent about the Hunza landscape it is an extreme volatile region the people living there are not permanent and have to move after at least after two generation.
Hunza is probably the most hard hit regions of climate change .
