ROME: An Italian parliamentary commission on Tuesday approved a draft law banning women from wearing veils that cover their faces in public.

The draft passed by the constitutional affairs commission would prohibit women from wearing a burqa, naqib or any other garb that covers the face in such circumstances.

Italy is the latest European country to act against the burqa. France and Belgium have banned the wearing of burqa in public.

The law was sponsored by Souad Sbai, a Moroccan-born member of premier Silvio Berlusconi's conservative Freedom People Party.

That's ridiculous. Are you telling me that these incidents will stop if you ban the Burqa? They will wear a Ski Mask or something! Next, they will ban turbans and have Sikhs be clean shaven so that their faces will be visible!!

in india too there is a ban of black film on car glasses for the reason....
nothing personal when your can affect public security....

if security demands , i have no problum been asked to be clean shaved in public....simple as it....coz it only for your own security , have respect to it...

You are mixing topics. Is the Burqa banned in India?? It is part of a person's religious belief. Tinted windows of a car is not.

I don't really support the concept of Burqa. But I am against a law that takes away the freedom of a person to follow his/her culture or religion.
