ISLAMABAD: Italy's defence minister Roberta Pinotti on Monday said her country opposes use of force and lethal weapons against peaceful protesters in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).

In a meeting with President Mamnoon Hussain here at the Aiwan- e-Sadr, the Italian defence minister said Italy would apprise the international community of the ongoing human rights violation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

President Mamnoon Hussain called upon the international community to urge India to immediately put an end to atrocities against innocent Kashmiris.

He stressed for the resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations' resolutions for durable peace in the region.

Expressing concern over Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir, the President condemned violation of human rights by Indian armed forces and use of brutal means to suppress the peaceful struggle of the Kashmiris for attainment of their rights.

The President noted that ongoing Indian atrocities resulted into martyrdom of over 100 Kashmiris.

He mentioned that the use of pellet guns had resulted in blinding over 160 people including children and women.

President Mamnoon Hussain also recalled that more than 100,000 Kashmiris have lost their lives since 1989 and 10,000 women had been raped by the Indian forces during peaceful struggle of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.

He apprised that India had rejected the UN High Commissioner's demand for fact finding mission for IoK and also not responded to a similar demand from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The President further informed that India had also closed down all offices of Amnesty International on raising voice against its atrocities in IoK.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would forcefully raise the issue of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir during his address to the United Nations General Assembly and would call upon the world community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations of the people of IoK.

He said Pakistan wants peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues with India, including Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir dispute, adding that a consistent, uninterrupted and result-oriented dialogue between the two countries was the key to resolve out standing issues between the two countries.

The President noted that the internationally recognized unresolved dispute of IoK remained the root cause of tensions in South Asia for more than 68 years.

President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan being the biggest victim of terrorism, was committed to eradicating terrorism and extremism from its soil through National Action Plan and operation Zarb-e-Azb.

He said Pakistan desires peace, stability and development in Afghanistan and had taken measures for better border management to avoid undesirable incidents and to promote peace.

The President noted that Pakistan and Italy shared views on a number of regional and global issues and hoped that both countries would continue to work closely on all issues of mutual interest.

He expressed confidence that Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation between Pakistan and Italy would pave the way for further enhancing defence collaboration between the two countries.

Minister Roberta Pinotti acknowledged that Pakistan had suffered a lot and appreciated Pakistan's efforts for eradicating terrorism.

She also lauded Pakistan's efforts for bringing peace in Afghanistan and for generously hosting millions of Afghan refugees.

BS being spread by Pakistan. There is absolutely zero mention of Kashmir or protesters or lethal weapons in the official press release by Italy's defence ministry on the visit:
65 years Italy and Pakistan are linked by strong ties of friendship and an important bilateral cooperation. Relationships that we can further consolidate.
This was stated by the Minister Pinotti, during the meeting with the President of the Republic,
Mamnoon Hussain, during his first official visit to Pakistan.
A cordial meeting during which the holder of the Department expressed solidarity and appreciation from Italy to Pakistan's commitment to fighting terrorism. Pakistan is the second country in the world for victims of terrorism. A huge undertaking, for which deploys 200,000 troops, without any outside help.
With President Hussain, Minister Pinotti has also focused on joint efforts in Afghanistan, emphasizing the role of Pakistan for stabilization and peace in the region.
Bilateral cooperation and training were central to the bilateral meeting between the Minister Pinotti and connects Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
The two ministers expressed their common will to develop partnership projects between companies. The idea is to bring together Italian technology, manufacturing and infrastructure of Pakistan to create a hub in the region.
Pinotti and Asif have also agreed on the need to intensify the cooperation between the General Staffs of Defense of the two countries to create more training opportunities in the Italian military academies.
Minister Pinotti also met with Pakistani Chief of Air Staff, General Sohail Aman.
On the occasion of the official visit, the Minister Pinotti took part in a conference at the National University of Sciences and Technology in Islamabad, spoke on the theme "The role of the military in peace support operations". In front of a young audience and interactive, he illustrated Italy's role in global peace-keeping: a historical retrospective, the core values, commitment present in so many crisis scenarios.

Even if you imagine Itely didn't spoke of atrocities in Kashmir, this statement is enough to prove that they would have than not.
  • Appreciation for Pakistan's commitment to fighting terrorism.
  • Emphasising role of Pakistan for stabilization and peace in the region.
  • Pakistan itself is victims of terrorism.
So Italians have flushed Modi's randi-rona into a bowl of toilet and have appreciated Pakistan for their commitment against terrorism and its role in the stabilising peace in the region. With that learned, if they've given comment against use of lethal weapons, that is just in line with above sentiments.

. . . . .
Preaching is good when you have no record of indulgence.
However on the other hand Italian commercial marine shoot & killed Indian fisherman with all lethality & brutality within Indian shores & yet they demand immunity for those murderers.

That's just standard diplomatic language everyone spouts to during bilateral visits.
Got nothing to do with Kashmir.

Anyways you Foreign Office has got exposed spreading fake news.

Everything which Italian Minister has said negates India's stance and nullifies Indian allegations towards Pakistan. As per OP, Italian minister has also opposed use of lethal weapons in Kashmir. Which dreams are you living in? This news is a public statement, if it is a lie, Italian would correct it. Also as per Indians, India is about to "isolate Pakistan"... why don't you start with Italy and prove to Indians that India can actually do it.

To date no country has backed Indian stance on Uri except Bangladesh and Afghanistan and we know both have their reason against Pakistan. Shouldn't India celebrate that it has a world with it?

.
Even I oppose use of 'LETHAL WEAPONS' against 'PEACEFUL' protesters, but IF any fucker tries to inflict harm on armed forces, they'll make sure he will wake up in a hospital.

Look at your spellings sir.. it clearly shows who's uttering BS! I have given my points and they are also in bold to support weakening eyes. If you can produce a single word which goes against Pakistan and that goes in line with Indian allegations, you can continue this discussion here.

In case there is none, you can give yourself some rest. You really need to come down from your imaginary high horses.
