Tasting success with Mars mission and Chandrayaan, Isro now plans to do research on asteroids and collect samples from farther planets.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle on the sidelines of the 24th convocation at Sathyabama University on Monday, Isro chairman Dr A.S. Kiran Kumar said they would be looking at future missions such as sample return mission, asteroid mission and lander mission. “All this will be determined by the advisory committee on science chaired by Prof U.R. Rao. They will go through the discussions and decide what kind of plans we should have in future and set our priorities,” he said.

Earlier responding to questions, the space commission chairman said that the organisation would launch disaster monitoring constellation satellite for Surrey space technology soon.

He also said in June Mars mission would witness a major event with earth, mars and sun aligning on the same line during which communication to the satellite would get cut for about 14 to 15 days. This will make the satellite handle the situation with its autonomous capability.

The space organisation will also conduct a 635 second test in its indigenous cryogenic engine and launch it with GSLV mark 3 by next December. He added that they would launch Sathyabama University’s nano satellite in the first half of 2016 along with cartosatellite series.

Responding to another question, Dr Kiran Kumar said that Isro works closely with academic institutions to develop several softwares and technologies like drone. Delivering his address, Sathyabama university founder-chancellor Dr Jeppiaar said that the institution would start a free IAS coaching academy for their students to turn them into bureaucrats. “We will train students in civil service exams from their second year of study,” he said. Ninety-Eight research scholars received doctorates and 2,655 received their degrees during the convocation.

We should concentrate on a Human space programme and a Space Station in collabration with Russians and Chinese.

the university is named after a hindu goddess and isro is more hindu than indian... therefore isro should stop pretending and immediately embark on research on vedic spacecraft powered by yoga and cow urine... i am 100 percent sure that such craft reach pluto in 50 days travel time.

i am not being hateful at all... just voicing what is the belief of many ordinary people in india... the national government itself believes this.

from ( Ancient Indian Science of Aeronautics | Indian Defence News )...
Puranic notes on the ancient flying machines

The Arthasastra of Kautilya (3zo century BC) mentions among the businessmen and technocrats, the Saubhikas or pilots conducting vehicles in the sky. Saubha was the name of the city of King Harishchandra and the root of "Saubika" means a person able to fly or who knows how to fly an aircraft. The essay uses Kautilya another significant word 'Akasa Yodhinah " whose translation is: People trained for air combat warfare. The existence of aerial chariots, in any form, was well known that found a place among the royal edicts of the Emperor Asoka who was executed during his reign from 256 BC.

but kautilya lived during the time of the greek conquest of north/north-west india... i wonder why the greeks did not see the vedic craft in the skies.

from the same link, a detailed drawing of a certain type of vedic aircraft/spacecraft... note the inclusion of "electric motor"... wow, india was so advanced then...

proxy

by the way, please note the source... "indian defence news"... think of all the things it means.

Let me tell you this is the most obnoxious post I seen from my fellow Indian.

Did the Vulcans learned space travel from Vedic Indians?

Let me tell you this is the most obnoxious post I seen from my fellow Indian.

You should learn from him instead of attacking him when he speak the truth about India.

I don't care whether Indian scientist used vedic mathematics, they took us to Mars, where China miserably failed.

I am learn from others, but I also have enough intelligence to discern where to learn and what to learn and from whom to learn.

I don't think Chinese ever tried it yet. However, U.S. I'd successful as we have three rovers on there.

For a change, just ask him, Hindu organization or not, ISRO went to Mars, what has his socialist microprocessors achieved till date?

Socialism is fine...but disrespecting other's religions is not fine. I ignore a Pakistani or Chinese saying 'cow urine', but feel bad when that comes from a fellow Indian.

It's a Russian mission. With a Chinese probe piggyback on it.

The operator was CNSA.

No, hard working people will take socialism as an insult, socialism fits better for people who prefer to live under government welfare.

I am a staunch capitalist, but I would not mind somebody having socialist tendencies.
