Israel wants ‘butcher’ Assad ousted, defense minister says

Israeilis seriously dont see irony in this statement. A nation born from genocide of Muslims -
I'm wondering if you even know what "genocide" means and the rest of your statement is la-la-land, too. So the only people who can possibly find irony in the statement are those who are seriously deluded or seeking to spread such delusions.

Israel wants ‘butcher’ Assad ousted, defense minister says
December 16, 2016 4:29am
(JTA) — The removal from power of Bashar Assad is an Israeli interest and ultimate goal, Israel’s defense minister said amid claims that troops loyal to the Syrian President were perpetrating a massacre in Aleppo.

Avigdor Liberman made the remarks, which constitute an unusual departure from Israel’s policy of nonalignment in Syria, on Thursday in Eilat, where he was speaking before participants of that city’s Limmud FSU conference on Jewish learning.

“Assad is a butcher who has massacred people,” Liberman said, adding: “The State of Israel has said ‘never again.’” It was a reference to the rejection of genocidal policies following the Holocaust perpetrated by Nazi Germany and its allies against Jews during the Holocaust. “This massacre, occurring in plain view with chemical weapons, is morally unacceptable,” Liberman also said.

But Liberman said that Assad’s removal was an “ultimate goal” for Israel as opposed to an immediate one.

Many thousands of people, including a large number of civilians, have been killed during the fierce fighting in Aleppo between Assad’s forces and rebels who have controlled parts of the city for the past four years.

More than 3,000 people have been taken out of the fighting zone on the first day of the evacuation on Thursday, but the United Nations said that as many as 50,000 are still trapped, the BBC on Friday reported.

The US accused the Syrian government of carrying out “nothing short of a massacre” in the city.

“The only remaining question is whether the Syrian regime, with Russia’s support, is willing to go to Geneva prepared to negotiate constructively, and whether or not they’re willing to stop this slaughter of their own people,” US Secretary of State John Kerry said.

Syria and Russia have repeatedly denied targeting civilians.

Assad on Thursday hailed the “liberation” of Aleppo after more than four years of fighting, saying that history was being made.

No, they haven't, the protesters against assad's genocide have been trying to do so. After assad has filled his share of crimes against humanity now israel will take advantage of it.

They supported Hizbullah during Israel's war, a lot of the effective weapons used by Hizbullah were Russian made and Supplied by Syria.

Arab Israeli newscaster: Aleppo onslaught is ‘a holocaust’
Lucy Aharish blames US, EU countries for ‘doing nothing’ as civilians die, accuses UN of ‘hypocrisy’ for crying over dead children

As bombs continue to fall on Aleppo, Syria’s ravaged metropolis, Israeli newscaster Lucy Aharish switched from Hebrew to English during an evening broadcast of her show on Channel 2 television on Thursday, to direct a damning message at viewers around the world.

“Right now, in Halab, Syria, just an eight-hour drive from Tel Aviv, a genocide is taking place,” said Aharish, Israel’s first Arab news presenter, using the Arabic pronunciation of Aleppo.

“You know what? Let me be more accurate: It is a holocaust. Yes, a holocaust. Maybe we don’t want to hear about it, or deal with it, that in the 21st century, in the age of social media, in a world where information can fit into the palm of your hand, in a world where you can see and hear the victims and their horror stories in real time — in this world we are standing and doing nothing while children are being slaughtered every single hour.”

Aharish named several European countries and the United States, blaming them for “doing nothing” as civilians died. She accused the United Nations of “hypocrisy” for holding meetings and “wiping away a tear when they see the image of a father holding the body of his little daughter.”

“I am ashamed as a human being that we chose leaders who are incapable of being articulate in their condemnation and powerful in their action,” she said. “I am ashamed that the Arab world is being taken hostage by terrorists and murderers and that we are not doing anything. I am ashamed that the peaceful majority of humanity is irrelevant once again.”

Aharish, who grow up in the southern Israeli town of Dimona, has made waves before with controversial statements. During last year’s wave of stabbings in Israel, she went on a jeremiad against Arab-Israeli leaders that drew polarized reactions across Israel’s different communities.

“Arab leaders… are adding fire to the environment and instead of understanding that once it will calm down, we will be the ones to pay the price,” she said in October 2015.

Bs,if Israel wanted it,Assad would have been gone for some years now.
Lieberman is just another Obama.

Syria is the one regime that is standing by the Palestinians and will not accept a settlement without their state.
Really,Syria?
What has Syria ever done for the Palestinians?

.
It's no secret that Israel openly supports the Rebels. The thing that makes it tricky is Russia and Iran getting in the picture, more towards Russia though. If Russia wasn't there Assad would be in the grave like Gaddafi. Putin's a former KGB officer. It's not hard for him to outsmart the Nobel peace prize winner Obama lmao.

.
Why not substitute "Erdogan" for "Israel" and "Lieberman"?
You are asking me?
Come on Solomon, you know what i think of Erdogan, why do it every time again and again?
You have to admit, operation Euphrates Shield(Erdogan) is better then doing nothing,or not?

It is but was the timing right (Aleppo)? Could/should it not have been done earlier given the rise of both YPG, ISIS and Turkey's proximity?

Overall the entire world community is to be blamed for what is going on. Especially regional powers and the West. We all could have acted before Russia intervened. Now no power wants to risk a possible war/conflict/proxy war against Russia.

The proxy wars will continue and Syria and Syrians will suffer as long as the international community (world powers and regional powers) cannot reach a consensus.

If you are honest with yourself you will realize that most Israelis are very fine with Syria burning down. It is the same with every other regional country as long as it does not threaten Israel directly.

Come on Solomon, you know what i think of Erdogan, why do it every time again and again?
Erdo was a vociferous opponent of Assad yet could not oust him, despite Turkey's strong military, a mostly unfortified border, and NATO protection. So why would you expect Israel to accomplish what Turkey could not?

Israeli airstrikes in Syria have targeted Assad forces as well. That should be enough.
Israel has only acknowledged airstrikes in Syria upon weapons transfers to Hezbollah, not the Assad regime itself.
