Shadiest and Shittiest University in Pakistan with Mullahs running it, to make it worse..the upcoming Al-Huda University is the same or worse. H-11 is going to be ISIS breeding central soon. Ironically was bombed too and I was right next door when it happened.. Still had to complete Calculus Class though
What ethnic Harmony? You are asked if you are Indian by people at CSD if you happen to mention you are from Karachi.. Its Ethnic Harmony only if the two Ps dominate.

Islamabad has Punjabis,Pathans,Kashmiris,Baltis,Sindhis,Balochis and a great number of Urdu Speaking people.Islamabad is what Karachi should be.
Sure it does, Ive lived in both cities... And the so called ethnic harmony is only on the surface.

I have only been to Karachi and mqm people there are extremely racist.They consider people from other provinces as crude cave men and consider themselves as beacons of modernity.
Sure they do, Jokes on every other minority are rife.. and please do not hide behind MQM people to avoid being racist.. say out Urdu Speakers or Migrants loudly.

It is more of an MQM centric thing urdu speakers in Lahore,Peshawar,Islamabad don,t think like that.
Urdu speaking people who dont support MQM tend to be less racist well that is what i observed in Karachi
Not at all, They are closet racists; the whole lot of them. On the other hand you may also find lesser racists within the MQM... greater racists within PTI, PML(N), PPP and ANP.. and in the general population. On the whole however, this nation is not happy with the ethnic layout due to a dominant province and its colonial heritage. Hence, I should also reconsider my earlier terming Pakistan as a nation but rather nations within a state.
The worst mistake to try and rectify or bury this stark reality was Zia's Islamization which has led to extremist breeding grounds like the Islamic University, Al-Huda University and other popping up. Ironically, more religious focused schools like the Jamia Binoria in Karachi have had a lesser precedent with extremist mindsets than say the staff and faculty at the Islamic University or Al-Huda.

This university will produce confused idiots, not intellectuals with strong logic and reason based minds which this country needs.
You think UAE was built off the back of graduates from such universities? You think China's rise was built on reveling in religious scriptures at a time when you should be learning how to solve real world problems?
Pakistanis need to wake up and create their own institutions of learning where they actually produce fully rounded professionals who can use their brain to improve the country.
Religion should not interfere in education. It has no place.

Not she did not. The attacks were targeting the females within the University and it is generally accepted that the more Radical out of the extremists(if that is ever a misnomer) were aghast against the idea of women studying(after hearing so again and again from their lecturers). I was next door when this happened... not to mention the countless times the nutjobs from this institution tried to shut off extra curricular activities of its neighbour because they deemed it unislamic.

Do you sutdy in Punjab University or what ?
I will base my argument on my personal analysis, nothing to do with religion / sect and education of universities in Pakistan (as I am from a profession where luckily I did not have to go to a university)
First thing, for me personally its love it or leave it, but don't be a hypocrite and whine latter on ohh I had study in such and such university, at least I would not do that, she could have opted another university right from the start after a month or so if she was so much uncomfortable there.
The other thing if this university is being funded by Wahabis or Saudis or whatever then who were the people who attacked them? Don't you see a missing link here........ why one would attack one's own establishment that is doing such a brilliant job in brainwashing people.
