To me it looks like our Government and Military is trying to buy time with TTP. In other words, they are trying to slow terrorism down using the 'peace tool'
The fact of the matter is they know that this so called 'peace' cannot sustain and how could it when Afghans, Uzbeks and other Central Asians are mercenaries and they target innocent citizens of Pakistan.
Few weeks back when TTP killed some dozen Pak Army Soldiers, we replied with aerial bombings in North Waziristan and not suprisingly the ones that were killed were foreigners. Clearly, at that moment, we lost control of patience and it was rightly justified. On the other side of the picture, you could see the confusions in the political desk. Majority of the politicians voted for the approval of Military Operation but then at the end decided to go back to the 'peace tool'
One can say that their case is also strong. It is my feeling that they are waiting for American and NATO forces to exit from Afghanistan by the end of 2014. If that occurs, then you have the chance to use the iron hand with full force and without pressure.
It was yesterday, that the Military in the core commanders meeting made it public that they will support the Government. It is safe to say that an agreement was perhaps reached and use of 'peace tool' to be used until the right time arrives.
