Will pakistan be capable of making a advance supersonic version of Babar for the Anti-Ship role.A supersonic version of Babar would be highly deadly it would be able to get to the target quickly and deadly. It would be usefull against highly defended targets such as aircraft carriers, bases, and ports.

Studies by the U.S army and Missile corporation show that supersonic cruise missile are more deadly than subsonic.supersonic missiles would be good on hevilly defended area's.lets put it this way if you punch someone slowly it wont hurt that much but,if you punch someone really fast it'll really hurt.

Just put a stronger engine and you have a super sonic missile.Add a few gallons of fuel and you have a long range missile. This is how easy this stuff is.But scientists make it look hard. :bash:

LOL. Its not that easy either. Especially working with a cruise missile that is capable of nuclear attack. Pakistan right now is working to get the missile working with the ships, i heard the missile first will be tested by submarines then it will be tested by a ship.

Supersonic missile will might be needed of in some sort of mission so its always better to have different type of cruise missiles, both speeds and have their advantages, so yah need both speeds. I hope the supersonic speed will be achieved with 1000KM cruise missile which is being developed.

A supersonic cruise missile significantly reduces the effectiveness of a chemical weapon equiped warhead. Secondly a supersonic cruise missile has significantly reduced range. The Indian Brahmos cruise missile in reality was designed as an anti-ship cruise and was extensively reworked to give a sub-standard land attack cruise missile.

Anti-ship cruise missiles and land attack cruise missiles shouldn't be served by a single missile sub-standard in both, rather two different dedicated platforms should be utilised.

Super Sonice missiles reduces range and warhead size, go figures. Not necessary for Pakistan imo stick to Baburs instead. :buck:

Capable? u mean right now?
I don think so..because supersonic missiles require ramjet or scramjet propulsion and there has been no news till date of pakistan having developed or tested this tech even in ground tests.

It would not be surprising if we see a Pakistani super sonic cruise missile in near future.
When Pakistan first tested the Babur cruise missile in 2005, no one had ever expected this from Pakistan.
It took every one with surprise.
Indian government was so confident about this theory of Pakistan’s
inability in area of cruise missile technology that they
even refused to accept the Pakistani proposal to include cruise missiles in the agreement regarding the ballistic missile testing.
Pakistan’s missile program is very robust and effective,
catering the defense needs of the country but very secretive at the same time.

Lets wait and see, what the people in Nescom test in near future. After Air launched cruise missile Raad, a naval version of cruise missile is next on menu.
