Is it possible for a foreign country to change the government in democracy

Some Bangladeshis accuse Indian establishment of bringing sheikh haseena into power to work as a stooge of India.How is it possible to get the voters of any country by some other foreign country to vote for a particular political party.I can understand toppling dictators.I feel it is not possible in a democracy. If that can be the case India can well do it in sri lanka,Pakistan and Nepal too;then again is it possible?

USA did it with Pakistan. Usually involves heavy funding to support one section of the political system take over and rule. India doing the same in Bangladesh would be stupid given our budding relationship.

What can funds do?in india all politicians hand out money to poor people;those people even after taking money vote for the party which they want to vote for.No matter how much money had been thrown,would it have been possible for UPA to come to power in last elections..no amount of funding can change peoples decisions.

Things change.. India has become a colonizer from a colony. While Bangladesh has become colony of India from a colony of West Pakistan from a colony of British. You should be happy that India completely controls a nation of 150 million people.

Don't think on 2008-9 but on 2014 yes. India and Awami League together had been able to use police and other paramilitary to neutralize anti-government protests. Also, the Indian RAW backed Pilkhana was the reason for our military not to intervene like in 2007 as it's top command had been weakened and needs time to recover.

But then again the manner Hasina won in 2007 is to be questioned. BNP had received just 10 million less votes but had 200 fewer seats than Awami League.

As for overthrowing of democracy by a foreign government look no further than Ukraine.
