It was a foolish move. Simple.

Founding members of organisations are expected to be more mature. There is no shadow of doubt that Pakistan came up with the idea of OIC for closer cooperation between Muslim states who are plagued by similar issues and comparable issues.

India was invited as an observer and for all the talks of peace initiatives taken by the government, OIC summit would have presented a natural option that.

Diplomacy is not about childish attitude that GoP would offer talks in midst of war and then not be present at a summit where something could have been arranged. It is not about proving a point but being constructive about it.

Pakistan does not need to be India-centric in her foreign policy. But it is forced always into it due to whims of narrow minded and short sighted politicians.

There are 2 main reasons which made Pakistan uncomfortable;

First is that Pakistan, one of the founding members, was not taken into confidence and was not consulted with,

Second is, that India was invited as "guest of honour". India is an arch enemy of Pakistan. Can you imagine BRICS or BIMSTEC inviting Pakistan as guest of honour?

yes its a wise decision. Pakistan is the most powerful Islamic country and a founding member of OIC. OIC cannot function without Pakistan. If there is no Pakistan, there is no OIC. Simple as that!

I can understand where you are coming from but you need to understand that there are better ways in dealing with a bully then just avoiding him.

Not that I'm a fan of this govt or IK (I disliked his decision of releasing the pilot so easily without first making sure that Pakistan is assured some form of guarantee that India will solve Kashmir dispute within 2 years time and stop massacring Kashmiris), but this was the best decision at the moment, I firmly believe(in the long run) it will strengthen Pakistani image even further in OIC and next time the members won't cross their limitations, because like I said, OIC need Pakistan not Pakistan need OIC.

Not to forget Pakistan has not boycotted OIC but this summit where a terrorist sponsorer is invited as guest of honour.

India has right to make relation with any organisation. It's not india fault Pakistan rejected Israel hands for friendship. There are many Statement on record. But we are "thaikdaar of Islam" as we invented it.
Boycotting is sign of weakness, and it will hurt us in long term, Indian FM addressing in OIC meeting and Pakistan is sitting outside just watching it?.? This will be diplomatic success of Modi, and isolation of Pakistan . Modi will surely catch this opportunity,

I respectfully disagree with quitting all together, OIC is one of those huge platforms where Pakistan have a clear cut strength position and Pakistan have many strong allies like Turkeye, Azerbaijan, KSA, Iran, etc. All Pakistan need to do is to make this organization even more stronger.

The main question is, how effective is OIC and usefull for Pakistan.
Secondly the main gang in OIC is playing her own game, and Pakistan is no one in that game. Even turkey and Iran are out. So, when no Turkey no Iran no Pakistan, then who is sitting in the conference?
Thirdly, as mentioned by Qatari representative , Pakistan didnt object this time on invitation. So India was in.
OIC is just another saarc, saarc was more effective.
Fourthly, Arabs think that India will ditch Iran for them... India will never do that..
So, daikhtay hain yarana kitny din ka hai...khudhi pta chal jaeyga in arbon ko aatay dal ka bhao.

Maybe their success for time being but not for long-term. Next time members will be more careful.
