India has been modernizing its military very rapidly.
USA and Russia are its main suppliers, which are traditional rivals.
There is a certain race between these two nations to supply arms to India, thus both nations are making deals which are the cheapest and the best ,to attract India.
Is India on profit?

.
I think India is benefiting from this rivalry between the USA and Russia.

Same with Pakistan... both the USA and China are trying to improve their relations with Pakistan and are investing money and technology to achieve that end.

In summation, I think both India and Pakistan are doing quite well in this game of geopolitics!

China and Russia have a more bitter past. Its all about how one manages (or does not) to move past that....

.
Has India resolve any of the border issues with any of their neighbors yet?

Russia , yes.

US , NO.

US is still a small supplier trying to cut the mould in India.

Russia is well established Strategic Partner.

Not really , They supply arms for completely different reasons

Russia , it is just good business to deal with India for arms

US , is also trying to do business , but also want's to Improve Indo-US ties .

Technically not true.

Russia has always been a supplier for us and are well established.

The rest of the world , is simply eyeing an opportunity to get a piece of the India defence pie. Some also want to use it to improve ties.

But mainly speaking all major defence players want to be in India , as it is the fastest growing defence sector in the world.

Combine that with the off set policy. :partay:

:agree:

High tech weapons in the short run

Better ties with Supplier nations in the Medium term

Improving our own defence sector in the long run

This has no meaning as the border disputes can't be solved by a single country.it need common consensus of both the nation.

we can't solve the border disputes, specially when our neighbours are not ready to do so.

True. eveyone has to give and take some in order to resolve border issues.

As for the topic. Any buyer who has more than one saler definitely has an option. But I hope India make the right choice and get the biggest bang for the buck by purchasing the best weapon.

I wish India-China did not have such a bitter past..Who knows we might have seen some cooperation here also..

There are only 2 big "idolatry" loving populations in Asia. One is China and the other India both surrounded by "people of the book". Think about it.

India needs to exhume Nehru and then shoot him. What an idiot.

Totally agree with you on the last two sentences.

I think India will go broke before she can really benefit from the US-Russia race. (US or Russia will not give out free candies to India).
