The idea Gopinath sits fixing Indian figures is just plain laughable. Gopinath is involved in the WORLD OVERVIEW and does not deal in manipulating figures from India or Pakistan or any other country.
This of course is a result of the very poor education Pakistanis in all walks suffer from. To them the world has nothing better to do than hatch conspiracies against Pakistan and Pakistanis while favouring Indians in every aspect of life

yes central asian Turks/Turkics for centuries, but afghan are just over hyped for some strange reasons, other than Ahmed shah abdali every other invader before thec British was some kind of central asian Turk or Turkic general starting from Mehmood of Ghanza the son of Sebuktigin the Turk. The aboriginal Afghans of Afghanistan were just useful servants for the central asian Turkic rulers no different than aboriginal Indian Rajputs in case of India. A servant can never be compared to a ruler, so it is a disrespect to central asian turkic rulers to equate them with "afghans" in terms of invaders.

These are all early projections. Even if 1.5% projected growth rate is true, it will not remain the same a few days later. The situation is changing on a daily basis and no one can predict (specially when there's no corona infection peak in sight).

As @BHarwana said, Agri sector will not see much decline. Other sectors that may survive are healthcare and education specially in the economies where governments fund these sectors heavily.

Countries that depend on services sector, outsourcing, manufacturing, tourism etc will be badly hit. I think most of the countries in the world will witness massive recession.

It's a cycle that has started with job losses. Employees who are living in foreign countries on temporary residence visas will lose their jobs and they will return to their home countries. The sales of luxury items that keep the economy of certain countries running will go down. The remittances that provide fuel to many economies will decrease. This will result in slow down in manufacturing.. which will again result in job losses.. and then the demand of even essential items will decrease. Even agriculture will get a hit. People who eat blueberries and other expensive fruits will start avoiding them.

I mean its looking like a doomsday scenario for all the countries. People who are happy today that India is projected to grow at 1.5% should be worried that situation is changing very very fast. Even Pakistan which was about to come out of the economic mess created by useless governments is heading towards a disaster.. If someone says that the economy will shrink by only negative 2-3% in Pakistan.. there should be a sigh of relief even on this projection because this could go to minus 10% too.

Going to the IMF means nothing. Greece, Italy and Spain have all gone to the IMF for far bigger loans than Pakistan yet they are FAR FAR more racially, genetically, culturally, militarily, politically, scientifically, technologically and economically superior to indians........just look at the average living standard of an Italian, Greek or Spanish citizen and compare it to that of an indian and you will see...........

You are living in cloud cuckoo land if you believe the chief economist of the IMF went and changed the figures for India. Not only would that be grossly unprofessional, She would be sacked instantly. No ifs nobuts.

IMF is not Pakistan's ministry of disinformation or any Pakistani ministry, which lie on an hourly basis and see no problems doing it.
