usually it works when you live in Different countries such as in the EU, I don't need to register my present in EU if I live in my country (Such as the UK) I have my citizenship with, but I need to register myself with authority if I were to live in EU outside my country (Such as Sweden).

Thats what my point was precisely when I started this thread. How do these two narrative fit together. It seems Chinese government want a one China image outside for certain issues but inside it is treating its own citizens like foreigners if they are not from the same province. There are 4th option, cancel the Hokou system and let the Central Government deal with the issue that entailed. Which is what it should have been. You are talking about using a States Resource to cover a National Issue. It can never be done.



Well, Refugee visa is issued by which state can settle you in, that is because everything you have with a Protective Visa is provided by the states and you must "Land" at that state to gain those resource (Such as financial support, living arrangement and so on), but that is not a must, I mean, you just wasted the resources that was given to you if you choose not to live in that states.

When we have 20000 USD or above per capita, and East China and Middle China difference are not that huge,i guess hukou will perish envetually!

Shanghai locals and locals in Beijing oppose the total cancellation of hukou restrictions in Shanghai and Beijing. Shouldn’t these local opinions be respected?


Of course, the social turmoil in China is what Westerners want to see.
Just like if there is a terrorist attack in China, Westerners must be very happy, as long as there is no Westerner to die and they will not recognize it as terrorist attack but Minorities oppose the oppression of the Han.

Nah man, I think you are confused with regional visa and permanent residence.

There is a category of 3 years visa where you get a better chance to Permanent Residence if you choose to live in regional Australia. But that is not a permanent residency visa and once that visa are finished and you are granted PR, you can live where-ever the hell you wanted.
