Is this question with respect to china or Pakistan?????
China has a better chance of countering it than Pakistan....

Since you put it that way...
Most of south Asia will not want to counter it or even if they wanted to can't afford to buy the JSF which is the only other alternative.....

To put it this way for S.A countries the most feasible 5th gen air craft(in cost and ability) would be the T-50 it self....

But for China and Pakistan who won't be able to get their hands on the T-50 derivative the only option is the Chinese 5th gen project.....

Singapore might get its hands on the JSF ...

Although T-50 specifications remain classified, fragmentary data on its engines imply that this heavy-duty fighter will have a take-off weight of more than 30 metric tons and will be close in dimension to the well-known Sukhoi Su-30 Flanker.

PAK FA / T-50 / Project 701

. .
The emergence of a Chinese counterpart stealth fighter may also re-awaken . Production of large numbers of T-50 (PAK FA) by India would place Pakistan in a rather difficult position, unless it purchased similar numbers of stealth fighters from China.

PAK FA / T-50 / Project 701

Can Pakistan really afford to buy 60-80 5th gen fighters I don't think so....
China producing its own 5 th gen fighter will force India to procure/produce more FGFA to maintain the military edge....
