How possible do you think a conflict between US and Russia is? What could be the possible consequences for the rest of the world? People even talk about a World War. Surely there must be a way to resolve the issues? However, given the stance of both US and Russia, I believe the possibility is very real and growing!

USA cannot afford more wars. IF they have to fight against them, their policies for middleeast and south asia are totally gone... Both parties would do whatever not to get engaged.

So chill - Middle East is not finished yet, there are still plenty to come in the coming years

. .
Both nations are already engaged in a proxy war however, both deny a confrontation could actually happen. Meanwhile, both nations keep mounting offenses in the name of defense.. With their current positions, igniting fire between the two won't be an issue.. Both nations are acting as a "reaction" to one another.

Sure middle East is a hot bed currently, but given the hostile nature of both.. If things aren't handled well at a diplomatic level, crisis may erupt.

It's possible but america wouldn't dare provoke Russia, they are simply no match.

.
The american are so desperate that they can spread moron lies. :D

If the two countries ever come to a major conflict that involves the use of at least tactical nuclear weapons, the US and its allies have everything to lose while Russia has very little to lose。:D:D

.
The US wouldn't want a war with Russia. Apart from what they have to lose, and the fact that they really can't win against Russia, US has been involved in warfare for decades. There's no way they can take on Russia with their resources. As far as a nuclear war is concerned, that probably won't happen. But the situation definitely doesn't look good.

The US has unlimited resources, more than double Russia's population and well trained troops who arent conscripts and who have high levels of experience, Russia has conscripts and men who struggled against Georgians and Ukrainians with standard equipment not close to the quality of the yanks, Russian soldiers look like they come out of 1950

It is not possible, but it can be possible when Russia and China decide to team up against uncle sam.

i think 90% of NATO countries will chicken out in a real fight and only the good boys (USA, Britain, France, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Australia) will be there fighting sinorussian agression.
I'd say even a head to head between Russia and US could happen.. totally agree with the stats on NATO here though and the countries that could potentially form an alliance.

NATO is not completly obsolete, we can use their infrastructure around the globe, but as a fighting force. all those chitty new NATO countries can barely contribute anything. Most of them are also broke.

NATO did a huge mistake by enlarging NATO into quantity instead of quality. NATO is a joke without Turkey, Britain, France and USA

Turkey is no where near Britain nor France in military power. It serve as trategic buffer against Russia and for hosting bases for Middle East operations.

S o it's most important asset is its geography, not its military.

A conflict is possible in the Baltic region.

While modern Russian military is undoubtedly formidable, it still cannot handle and/or defeat US military in a direct conflict.

If it's a head-to-head between the two, I think Russia could cause some serious damage.
