Iran produced above 260,000 of different kinds of vehicles in the second quarter of 2015.

Official figures show Iran produced above 260,000 of different kinds of vehicles in the second quarter of 2015, thus registering an increase of 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

Above 240,000 vehicles that have been produced over the period were sedans. The figure shows an increase of 26.6 percent compared to the same period last year. Other vehicles included 15,000 pick-ups, 3,000 trucks, about 200 buses and 109 mini-buses.

Among sedans, models such as Peugeot Pars, Pride and Peugeot 405 had the highest production volumes of 37,000, 34,000 and 30,000 units, respectively.

Iran’s total auto output presently stands at 1.4 million cars a year. Many are already expecting this increase by at least 28 percent once the economic sanctions against Iran are lifted in light of the signing of a final deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries.

Iran and P5+1 – the five permanent members of the Security Council plus Germany – are currently negotiating over the deal in Vienna. It envisages the removal of certain economic sanctions against Iran in return for the country’s efforts to restrict certain aspects of its nuclear energy activities.

The Business Monitor International (BMI) in a recent survey said the final Iran deal will play a crucial role in the development of Iran’s auto industry.

This, it said, will be materialized through enabling Iranian car manufacturers to have access to foreign producers of auto parts.

If you think ao you're fooling yourself.
Right now iran car makers are the exact definition of botelling the blood of the people.
You won't see any quality product from them or treating peeople like humans from Saipa and IranKhodro unless they stop artificially increase the price of quality foreign cars.

That can happen AFTER state of the art foreign cars are built in Iran. Be it Peugeot or Toyota or Hyundai.

Honda could be a good option to the Iranian middle class.
Its City and Civic models are much better in my opinion as compared to Corolla from Toyota.

Car companies & the government in Iran are stuck when it comes to car production. They are big enough that there is a lot of political competition to see who manages it, etc, so you won't find the best managers at the right place. They are also employing enough people that it will be politically risky to have someone go through the taskforce with a chainsaw to make it more efficient (people will say, OMG high unemployment!). And the cars are sold to enough Iranians, that the car companies can't raise the prices as they like, because the government doesn't want to anger the people, so they push the prices down, making the car companies have less incentives to take risks or spend money in R&D, etc.

What needs to be done is for the government to encourage the start-up of other car productions to make Iran Khodro & Saipa less important for Iran.

The bigger problem is that they already stop using Iranian made spare parts for the cars and they using worse and cheapest possible spare parts from China and India ....

so even their products have less quality from years when they used Iranian spare parts ...

They don't care about people , They are bunch of Bastards ... I would gladly give them to ISIS , or just behead them by myself

For officiers and civila in military branches?

Didn't like it.

Same like Sweden in picture.

For 1 or 2 year back.

Saipa and IK should be warned by this law:

-Foreign cars will be Tax free In 2025!

Iran Khodro and German automaker Mercedes-Benz will sign a deal soon for production of cars and commercial vehicles, the head of the leading Iranian vehicle manufacturer says.

Hashem Yekke-Zare said Daimler AG’s unit has decided to “enter the Iranian market in full force” after recent negotiations, adding it will re-open its office in Iran in the next two-three months.

“According to the agreement reached with Mercedes-Benz, a five-year deal will be signed soon under which Setareh Iran as the importer and Top Khodro Company as the manufacturer will start distribution of Benz cars in Iran,” he said.

“A 10-year deal will be also signed for production of commercial vehicles…Besides, Mercedes-Benz has announced its readiness to buy 30% of shares in Iranian Diesel Engine Manufacturing (IDEM) and begin production of the latest world engines,” he added.

Another Iranian company, Vehicle Axle Manufacturing Co. (Vamco), will expand cooperation with the German car maker, Yekke-Zare said.

Iran Khodro has also held negotiations with Volkswagen on production of cars and investment in Iran, as well as transfer of technology and exports of products.

“Ultimately, which company will be Volkswagen’s partner in Iran, let’s the company announce itself. But we think Volkswagen is one of the suitable choices for partnership with Iran Khodro,” he added.

The top automakers’ return follows a visit by German Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel to Iran this month at the head of a high-profile trade delegation.

Gabriel said he had brought the best German companies which enjoyed very good relations with Iran for years and tried to maintain those ties even under the sanctions regime.

The minister headed a 60-member delegation of big German businesses such as Siemens, Linde, VW, Daimler and GIZ on his three-day visit to the Islamic Republic.
