Tuesday March 13 marks the ancient, patriotic fire festival of Chaharshanbe Suri in Iran. It is traditionally celebrated throughout Iran on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz (the Iranian New Year, which marks the beginning of spring on March 20).
Chaharshanbe suri rituals include jumping over the fire, the festival reaches its peak in the evening.

This is non-Islamic festival dated back to Zoroastrian, good to know they are going back to their roots.

Very interesting, I love Persian culture.

Who cares? Much of our "celebrations" have nothing to do with Islam either.
Worshiping fire and playing with it is pagan culture later associated with parsis, if you want to be one of them.....who cares i just stating the reality....

No one is worshipping fire. By the way, what do you think we do at Urs?

That's like saying that celebrating Basant is for worshiping kites.

Reminds me of Shabra’t when i was a kid.

Once my fathee came home late in the evening.. shops had closed and I didnt have any fireworks.

So he let me fire his weapon.. (you know like holding my hands while i pull the trigger).. good old times.

People like me gave their lives to protect people like you from TTP + R&AW stooges.

Show some respect,
Unnecessary hate isnt worth it either.

Its just an old pre Islamic iranian festival.

We have our share if them too..

Infact every indigenous muslim statw has sub festivals.. from malaysia to maldives.
