Western media is acting like this is a super duper spy sat.

It’s 1 meter resolution. Iran can order commercial resolution at 20-30 cm.

What is your definition of resolution? This is not HUAWEI camera VS Samsung. It is a high tech Sensor with military applications.

Iran's application of commercial satellites in relation to potential military targets are closely monitored by western intelligence agencies, as demonstrated by the Ain al Asad attack.

This new satellite gives Iran far better military and opaque capabilites.

FYI, we have different defintion and areas of resolution. What i want from a remote sensing sensor personally, is the highest possible spectral resolution. For real time detection you need highest possible temporal resolution which i doubt it in case of this satellite unless Iran had plans for sending more of this kind of satellites. These resolutions are parallel to each, some limit the others. Depends on what you want or need.

Iran has already unveiled micro sats with 1 meter resolution. This might have been great for Iran back in 2012. But iran has reached this level imaging capability already.

You sir point to spatial resolution. It is important but not that much necessary in scientific applications. If you had used ENVI software then you would have cared more about spectral resolution than other kinds of resolutions such as spatial one or radiometric res.

In order to define indexes used to recognize different phenomenons on the ground, you need more narrowly recorded bands. Hyperspectral sensors having high temporal res can do mgical things.

Iran’s version has an improved 1.2M ground resolution camera. Which points to some degree of customization for the Iranian version. The extent unknown as limited information has been shared by both parties.

Software can help improve image quality, but “magical” is a step to far.

In regards to reconnaissance capability, this satellite other than its orbit is not a big boost to Iran. In terms of earth sensing capability, environment monitoring, earthquake/pollution/fire detection, it is a positive for Iranian capability.

I get your point, but this satellite has military use for Iran, and that's why they are all crying about it.
