Iranian Navy Receives 2 new Ghadir-Class Midget-Submarines

The Iranian Navy expanded the fleet of its submarines after it received two more Ghadir-class submarines. Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Thursday that the two new submarines have been added to the submarine fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy.

Rear Admiral Sayyari noted that Ghadir-class submarines have been totally designed and manufactured by Iranian experts.

He pointed out that the submarines joined the Iranian Navy's fleet concurrent with the 10-day-dawn marking the 33rd victory of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran.

Two other submarines of the same type (Ghadir-class) joined the navy fleet concurrent with Velayat-90 navy drills in the east of the Strait of Hormuz, Sea of Oman, Gulf of Eden, and north Indian Ocean,' Rear Admiral Sayyari added.

All parts of the submarine, including fuselage, radar equipment, and advanced defense equipment have been designed and manufactured by the experts at the Islamic Republic of Iran's Defense Ministry.

High maneuver capabilities of Ghadir-Class submarine make it suitable for Iran's weather conditions.

No one knows, anyway i think they have about 20+ of them now.
there is no point for Iran to make very large sub since the persian gulf is quite shallow.

No It's main purpose is to lie down in the sean bed and wait for the enemy ships.so i suppose its stealth.

small sub- less noise- less sonar signature- maybe get close to amrikan carrier battle group- fire torpedos at aircraft carriers- or ram them- win win situation-

the Japanese didn't made the zeros for kamikaze attacks- but when they were being annihilated and were on brink of defeat by the amrikan they used it for kamikaze missions- and definitely for you- in case of a war- the need of such desperate measure will surely come- the flying boat or that subs- catch the drift-

also the sub as I said is designed to stay on the sea bed and wait for the enemy ships. also Iran is suppose to show a new sub which will have a mass of 600 tons.
