Iranian MP says foreign adversary recently attacked Iran using drones

. . .
.
Drone strikes this deep in Iran is way to embarrassing although I believe he is dead wrong. It seems Iranian Government hasn't even briefed its MP on what the hell happened and what hit them.

True, but I'm sure he could get in trouble for spreading false information. There were reports an anti-aircraft missile was fired in western Tehran around time of one explosions but they were dismissed as being fake. If US is suggesting that Iranian AD has been put on alert then there are numerous concerns here, one being these sabotage style attacks could be precursor to actual strikes on their nuclear program or they suspect stealth fighters/drones may have been used in one of the attacks.

@SalarHaqq

Can you read Farsi?

US says it has intelligence some Iranian air defense systems were put on high alert:

Can Iranian members confirm this(the MP tweet)?
I googled it. Apparently only one Iranian newspaper has covered this and it refers to a twitter post that's allegedly associated with Ardeshir Motahari, an Iranian member of the Parliament from Garmsar City.

Here is a word by word translation:

"The other side has been launching some attacks using unknown UAVs for some time but they don't claim responsibility to stay safe from our retaliation. However, we will take revenge and we will claim the responsibility for it too. The time for "hit and run" is over."

I read something earlier about possibility of people on the ground supplied with little explosive drones to be used in some of these attacks. That could be what he means and not actual drones violating Iranian airspace.

That's very likely actually. Possibly the most likely scenario.

Jews at it again. I'm sure some of your Jews may have hand in it with their Bahai brothers.

False news.

First of all, you should be careful using twitter because this person could be anyone claiming to be a "member of parliament". Secondly, Iran has officially stated the cause is known but will reveal it at a later date, thus no member of parliament (even if they had access to the information) would come and reveal anything on twitter. Once the proper arrests have been done, they will come out and reveal what happened. This makes me believe either the twitter account is fake or this person is talking without much information. To be fair, he did not say Iran was attacked by UAVs in this case, he appears to be linking past events of the use of (attempts) UAVs against Iran and extrapolating. Obviously we know what happened in the RQ-170 and RQ-4 incident.

Regarding the use of UAVs, I do not think anyone is naive enough to believe UAVs could have been used to attack a facility like Natanz. That facility has multiple SHORADS including Tor-M1 protecting it. The likelihood of such things being put together internally and used to attack is practically nill.

The most obvious likelihood is the use of ground based explosives.

If he comes out and disassociates himself with the twitter account then let us know. I'm sure people are already asking him about this. Otherwise, at the time being I am going to say it is his account and he is giving his general impression/opinion. He could be referring to the US as well.

The "other side" nearly always refers to the US in the undeclared literature of Iranian officials.

Perhaps wait for more reliable sources (at least from an Iranian news channel) before jumping to open a thread? If not then you risk spreading misinformation. From my understanding, using just some unconfirmed tweet does not constitute an adequate enough source according to the forum rules. Or am I mistaken? @BHarwana
