Iranian employee at SpaceX

Well he was born in the USA but both his parents come from Iran so i thought you might be interested.

His name is Darius (or Darioush?) and he manages the engine of the 2nd stage. He is some kind of "Wunderkind". He is a star in the business because he actually "thinks into rockets". He is just 24, worked at ATK and SpaceX headhunted him away from there

Meet him at a congress few months ago and he is pretty cool. Its also amazing how easy he does this stuff. At their 2nd last launch he chatted with me during launch and you could see him watch on his smartphone while doing his job. I made a few screenshots of their livestream. He is the guy with blue shirt at first line:

you can actually see how he checks his phone. He even waved at the camera at one time.

We occassional chat on FB and talk about technology stuff....i wondered how do other iranians think about stuff like this? Do you see those guys as american or as your own?

As far as i know there is a 2nd iranian in charge of the mars rover program.

I asked Darius what he thinks about Iran. He said he visited it only one time when he was like 8 years old.

I have a iranian girlfriend and she told me many things. I saw the country few days and it was totally different then i believed it is. So. I nce had very negative opinion about it and admit i was wrong. I believe our nations can be friends.

Thanks Markus for Sharing. Very interesting. A couple of my university classmates are also working for Nasa.

To answer your question, I always feel proud to hear such news. I'm sure most of the Iranians do the same.
