Iran Supplied Terror Arms Seized by Kuwait

A large cache of arms seized by Kuwaiti security forces last week were supplied to terrorist groups by Iran. The weapons, which included ammunition, explosives and grenades, were discovered buried beneath houses along the border between Kuwait and Iraq for use by the Lebanon-based Shiite Hizbullah. It has been reported that the arms were smuggled from Iran by sea. Kuwaiti authorities have so far arrested 13 men in connection to the cache, some of whom have reportedly talked to the Kuwaitis about the flow of arms, revealing that, “there is a direct Iranian line in supplying weapons to Kuwait by sea.” A newspaper is reporting that members of the terrorist cell linked to the arms cache received training by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on a Red Sea island with other terror-trainees from Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and that access to the island was facilitated by the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen.

Iran’s hand seen in the discovery of a Hizbollah cell in Kuwait

Hizbollah, the Shiite fighting force in Lebanon, has long been supported by Iran. Yet, exactly what the group’s objectives are in the Arabian Gulf remain somewhat unclear. The group’s repeated attempts to spread extremism and stoke sectarian strife in the Arabian Gulf countries were the subject of an opinion piece by Emirati columnist Amani Mohammed in Abu Dhabi’s daily Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of the The National.

Last week, Kuwaiti authorities broke up a terror cell linked to Hizbollah, making several arrests and seizing a large cache of weapons and explosives that were later linked to Iran.

“Strange happenings are taking place that can only be explained as evidence of Iranian political and geographical ambitions along with a desire to interfere in the affairs of neighbouring states in the Arabian Gulf,” the writer said.

“Now that it has secured its control over Baghdad, Beirut and Damascus, Iran has its eyes on other countries that it plans to transform into followers, and Hizbollah is evidently nothing but a means to an end.”

Such events present a stark contrast with diplomatic statements from Iranian officials calling for dialogue with the country’s Gulf Arab neighbours. Relations between the Islamic Republic and the GCC states have been strained because of growing suspicions that Tehran is trying to further extend its influence across the region and exploit the momentum it has gained from the nuclear deal with western powers this summer.

“Inaction against these cells would be a crime in itself, for it would lead to a proliferation of terror cells in the future. But the real calamity is that suspects implicated in these actions are Kuwaiti citizens,” Mohammed wrote.

“How did they let themselves become easy putty in the hands of sectarian powers and how were they able to plot against their own?”

Columnist Hamad Salem Al Marri, writing in the Kuwaiti daily Al Watan, said that he wasn’t very surprised to hear about the Hizbollah-affiliated terror cell in Kuwait.

The region’s history and recent events have proved the extent of hostility that Iran harbours for Arab Gulf countries This hostility wouldn’t stop until Iran extended its control over the entire region for its own religious and political purposes, the writer said.

From a religious point of view, Iran aims to disseminate its Farsi Khomeini revolution, targeting mainly Shiites by recruiting them to confront anyone who challenges them. Politically, Tehran’s main objective is to become a dominant political player with entrenched control throughout the region. This project, the columnist noted, has already been accomplished in Iraq and Syria to a large extent.

“This wasn’t the first time a terrorist cell was uncovered in Kuwait and it won’t be the last as Iran continues with its schemes to undermine Kuwait’s security,” the writer pointed out.

“Having secured an alliance with the US, Tehran’s present ambition is to redesign the region’s map to achieve its common interests with the United States.

“We in the Arab Gulf states must hurry to form a confederation that would allow us to become a significant political, military and economic power in the region and to be able to stop Tehran from interfering in our internal affairs.

“Otherwise, we must give Iran a taste of its own medicine by providing the Ahwazi and Baluchi minorities in Iran with the necessary support to rebel against their tyrant government and bring it down,” he said.

They caught a few terrorist traitor rats in Bahrain some time ago as well. A swift process should be applied to all of them whether native or foreigner. It's time to put the iron fist on like seen in Yemen.

There should be room for political differences etc. but if locals are seen working with terrorist groups sponsored by enemy states in order to conduct terror attacks in their native lands they deserve the harshest possible punishment.

The Kuwaiti government has been too lenient in this regard when it comes to the extremes on both sides. Thankfully they are waking up.

Shia Islam originates from Hijaz (as does Sunni Islam, Sufism etc. and Islam as a whole obviously) and was later spread to the remaining regions of Arabia and afterwards the remaining Arab world and Muslim world.

Shia Islam in particular Isma'ilism gained a foothold in certain parts of Eastern Arabia (modern-day Bahrain and the coastal regions of the Eastern Province in KSA) early in Islamic history only to be replaced by the more mainstream Twelver sect.

The Arab Jarwanid Dynasty which ruled most of Eastern Arabia in the 14th century adopted Twelver Shia Islam. Later the Arab Jabrid Dynasty of the 15th and 16th century followed suit ending with the Bani Khalid Emirate. Eventually more and more local families, clans and tribes adopted Shia Islam in what is today Bahrain and the coastal regions of the Eastern Province.

Back then in the 14th and 15th century Shias were a minority in Iran until this occurred.

Safavid conversion of Iran to Shia Islam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ironically the Safavids imported/attracted a lot of Shia Arab clerics and Mullah families from modern-day Eastern Arabia when they forcefully converted the Iranian population from Sunni Islam (mainly Shafi'i) to Shia Twelver Islam.

Arab Shia Ulema
After the conquest, Ismail began transforming the religious landscape of Iran by imposing Twelver Shiism on the populace. Since most of the population embraced Sunni Islam and since an educated version of Shiism was scarce in Iran at the time, Ismail imported a new Shia Ulema corps from traditional Shiite centers of the Arabic speaking lands, such as Jabal Amil (of Southern Lebanon), Bahrain and Southern Iraq in order to create a state clergy. Ismail offered them land and money in return for loyalty. These scholars taught the doctrine of Twelver Shiism and made it accessible to the population and energetically encouraged conversion to Shiism.[34][37][38][39] To emphasize how scarce Twelver Shiism was then to be found in Iran, a chronicler tells us that only one Shia text could be found in Ismail’s capital Tabriz.[40] Thus it is questionable whether Ismail and his followers could have succeeded in forcing a whole people to adopt a new faith without the support of the Arab Shiite scholars.[36] The rulers of Safavid Persia also invited these foreign Shiite religious scholars to their court in order to provide legitimacy for their own rule over Persia.[41]

Abbas I of Persia, during his reign, also imported more Arab Shia Ulema to Iran, built religious institutions for them, including many Madrasahs (religious schools) and successfully persuaded them to participate in the government, which they had shunned in the past (following the Hidden imam doctrine).[42]

The fact is that there are likely more Shia Arabs than Shia Persians and Shia Islam has nothing to do with Iran or Persians other than being the majority sect of Iran today.

Stop writing nonsense and obsessing about Arab affairs that you have no clue about, Farsi. Go back to worshipping your fake wannabe Arab Mullah's in Qom and stop meddling in Arab affairs. You are unwanted people.

Bahraini people and Saudi Arabians are almost identical people and fellow Semites, Arabians and Arabs, neighbors etc. with millennium old ties on all fronts. In fact people of the Eastern Province in KSA and Bahrain are identical and even speak the same Arabic dialect.

Bahrainis have nothing to do with Mullahstan. Keep having daydreams. Shia Islam originates from Hijaz and has nothing to do with Mullahstan. Nor their culture, ethnic origins, traditions or language. Bunch of Farsi nonsense.

GTFO clueless kawli.

the religion introduced by Khumeni upon his return from UK, is a new version of Shiaism... its not how Shia used to live, believe and behave about 30 years ago.
Look at them now...all terrorist cells and organizations and related activities are operated by them... we use to recognize Americans as ignorant of outer world, but now after living in isolation for half century in closed state... all Iranians talk like Kim Jong.
