Iranian Army to hold war games in Isfahan

TEHRAN – Iranian ground troops will hold military exercises in Isfahan Province on Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr in 1982, the Army commander announced on Monday.

Iran liberated the southwestern port city of Khorramshahr from Iraqi occupation on May 24, 1982 during the 1980-1988 Iran–Iraq war. The Iraqis had captured the city early in the war on October 26, 1980.
