Ammunition & Metallurgy Industries Group (AMIG) is the largest industrial group of Defense Industries Organization (D.I.O) which is in charge of producing a wide range of ammunition from small arms up to large caliber artillery ammunition covering both western and eastern standards. Having more than seven decades of experience in manufacturing military products, AMIG has met the requirement of domestic and international markets in supplying any type of conventional ammunition as well as all components thereto. AMIG, composing of 8 subsidiaries located in different cities of Iran is utilizing modern technology, sophisticated machineries and equipment as well as specialized personnel to manufacture qualified products in both military and non military field. This has led AMIG to achieve various certificates in ISO and other international standards. AMIG products include:Small Arms,Medium Caliber,Mortar Bombs Tank & Anti Tank,Filled Artillery and Cargo.

SMALL ARMS MILITARY CARTRIDGES

The Military Cartridges are intended for use in various types of hand-held or mounted weapons applied for combat or training purposes. They can be classified as: BALL intended for use in rifles, and/or machine guns against personnel and unarmored targets. TRACER intended to permit visible observation of the bullets in-flight path or trajectory and the point of impact. AP (Armor-Piercing) which is used in machine guns or rifles against personnel and light armored and unarmored targets, concrete shelters, and similar bullet-resisting targets. API (Armor-Piercing-Incendiary) having an incendiary mixture to burst into flame when impacting with the target and ignite the flammable material. APIT (Armor-Piercing-Incendiary-Tracer) the bullet which acts as combination of the features of the armor-piercing, tracing and incendiary. SPOTTER-TRACER to serve as a fire control device to verify weapon sight settings before firing 106mm weapons. BLANK which is used for simulated fire, in training maneuvers, and for saluting purposes.

SMALL ARMS LAW ENFORCEMENT CARTRIDGES

The cartridges required for the Law Enforcement purposes include 9mm, 0.38”, 0.32”, 0.40” and 0.45” calibers as well as 7.65 Browning. These Cartridges are intended for use with pistol, revolver, and submachine gun and are vastly used by Police and Law Enforcement Forces all over the world.

Boulder Buster Cartridge is provided to bust the boulders or rocks without using any special explosives such as dynamite and just by a cartridge and some water. Gauge 8 Cartridge is provided to blast the slag that could form in the many different types of industrial furnaces such as that of Cement Factories and Line Throwing Cartridge for throwing lines from ship-to-ship.

23 mm ANTI AIRCRAFT SHELL

The 23mm Anti Aircraft Shell is a well qualified cartridge designed in two types for air defense operations. One type to be fired from ZU-23 Twin Barrel cannon a Russian type air defense ground gun and the other for use with RW-6-23 gun mounted on Aircraft or Helicopter in an air to ground defense operation. The latter has a brass case while the case in the former is made out of steel.

.
30 mm ANTI AIRCRAFT SHELL

The 30mm Anti Aircraft Shell is also manufactured in various types for different purposes in air defense operations. They are used in the 2A42 cannon fixed to the BMP-2 and can be applied against lightly armored targets at ranges up to 1,500 m and also against low-flying aerial targets such as helicopters. The HEI, HEIT, APT and TP (Training Practice) for each product are the various types manufactured as well as same for Naval Forces.

35 mm ANTI AIRCRAFT SHELL

The 35mm Anti Aircraft Shell as the medium caliber AA ammunition is used with Oerlikon 35 mm series cannon against air targets. There are two types of HEI and HEIT produced regularly and one type of SAHEIT (Semi Armour High Explosive Incendiary with Tracer) which is under development.

.
60 mm MORTAR BOMB

The high flexibility and easy handling and the accuracy of operation are the essential points considered in providing the mortar bombs. Both HE and smoke types of 60 mm Mortar Bombs have a symmetrically streamlined steel body with a welded steel eight-fin tail unit screwed to the rear end. A primary cartridge fits into the end of the tail tube and increment charges can be clipped into the fins.

81 mm HIGH EXPLOSIVE & SMOKE

Both HE and smoke types of 81 mm Mortar Bombs have a symmetrically streamlined steel body with a welded steel eight-fin tail unit screwed to the rear end. A primary cartridge fits into the end of the tail tube and increment charges can be clipped into the fins.

.
ILLUMINATING

This Mortar Bomb is intended for illuminating a desired point or area and consists of a time fuze, thin-walled steel body-tube, parachute, steel tail cone and fin assemblies containing propellant increment charges, ignition cartridge and propulsion cartridge. A tail cone is inserted into the body tube and is held in position by four equally spaced shear pins. The illuminant assembly consists
of a first-fire charge and an illuminant contained in a box board case. The parachute assembly is attached to the illuminant assembly casing by a steel suspension wire.

60 mm LONG RANGE

DIO has improved his normal type Mortar Bombs to achieve Long Range ones of 60mm and 81mm. The improvement is not only in the range but also in their performance. With more volume of explosive material, the new types have more explosion power and respectively much better fragments and finally resulting to better performance. All these changes are achievable without any changes to the mortar Launchers.

All these changes are achievable without any changes to the mortar Launchers.

120 mm HIGH EXPLOSIVE & SMOKE

Both HE and smoke types of 120 mm Mortar Bombs have the symmetrical steel body, with five gas check rings irregularly spaced around the waist. The nose is threaded for an impact fuze (AZIIIA2) and the body ends in a screwed spigot to which a steel tail unit is attached. The only difference between two types is the internal filling.

.
120 mm MORTAR BOMB

The Mortar Bomb has also a streamlined steel body with steel tail bow and alloy fins. It has five gas check grooves around the waist arranged as three and two. The bomb is assembled in two parts, the body and the tail cone and tail bow assembly, both being joined by shareable pins. In the body is the flare canister and behind it, the parachute to allow the burning flare to float to the ground.

120 mm ROCKET ASSIST DETAIL

This is an enhanced range Mortar Bomb to be used against light material and personnel, functioning with both fragmentation and blast effect. Once the Bomb is fired and en route to its target, the rocket motor initiates during the final few seconds of the flight, adding approximately 4 km range over conventional bombs.
