Iranian air defences using Chinese radar control system

Key Points
  • Iran has admitted using a Chinese system in its air defence network
  • The rare admission may indicate where Iran is getting sub-systems and components for its new radars
The air defence branch of the Iranian military has revealed that it is using the Chinese-made JY-10 radar processing and control system to help integrate its air defence network.

The use of the JY-10 was confirmed during an interview with air defence commander Brigadier General Ismaili Farzad Esmaili that was broadcast on 2 September. The supporting footage included a close up of a poster for Iran’s new Negah system that said it includes the JY-10, which it identified as a Chinese-made product.

According to the product catalogue released by Chinese radar manufacturer CETC International, the JY-10E is used to process data from radars within 800 km and can receive and process 100 flightpaths simultaneously. It says it has “high mobility, high reliability, and a high level of automation” and can be used as a backup command-and-control system. The extensive use of commercial technology in its construction makes maintenance and upgrades easier.

The Negah was one of several air defence support systems that were unveiled on 25 August when it was described as an advanced aircraft identification system that had been developed in Iran.

During the interview, Brig Gen Esmaili tried to convey the impression that his service is capable of defending Iran’s airspace and is taken seriously by other militaries.

That system completely eliminates the dependence on those system.
Thanks anyways, we have already received good systems from China

.
it says with this system (Negah), the following eastern and western components will be removed:

YJ-10 (made in China)
->extractor and tracer of the SR primary radar
-> transmission of the digital data to network

IFF Extractor (made in China)
-> extractor of the IFF radar and transmission of digital data to network

UPX-23 (made in U.S and reverse engineered by iei)
-> Transmitter/Receiver of the Secondary radar

UPA-62 (made in U.S)
-> collection of radar operating scopes

SIF (made in U.S and reverse engineered by iei)
-> information decoder

nazer (made in ... and reverse engineered by air-defense & Isfahan industrial university)
-> Transmitter/Receiver - processor of PSR radar

.
well ,I believe its good that they made such mistake , now let them waste their resources and money on finding the route that we obtain those subsystem and integrate then in our air-defence . specially let them try to find who deliver those American parts to us.

"They" are just a baboon's mouth piece. they posses no decision making power but are there to distribute propaganda and make the otherside look incompetent, incapable and inferior with racist undertones. Look up "Orientalism".

The real intelligence agencies never waste time because they know what is real and what is not.

Jeremy if you're reading this and i think you are, go get a life bro.

whats with the Anti-Iranian BS you dirt? you think if you downplay our achievements it will help your forces in possible future conflicts? you're not doing yourself a favor, contrary to that you're fucking yourself over.

the reason? its always safer to overestimate your true enemies rather underestimating them. this is even more than that, this is blatant ignorance.

keep it up
