A senior Iranian military commander has promised further action against the United States, a day after Tehran launched missiles at two bases housing US troops in Iraq.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Abdollah Araghi said that Iran would take “harsher revenge soon,” without specifying what that might entail, Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday.

The deputy head of the IRGC, Ali Fadavi, described Iran’s missile attacks on US forces as a display of the Islamic Republic’s military capabilities, claiming that the Americans “couldn’t do a damn thing” about the strikes.

Earlier, President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran’s ultimate goal, in retaliation against the assassination of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, is the complete removal of US forces from the region.

Iran didn’t want to kill US troops with its strike, it wanted to make point to Trump about its missile tech & resolve. It did that

Iran’s supreme leader described the missile strike as a “slap in the face” for the US, but said that the attack was not “sufficient” to remove “the corrupting presence of America in the region.”

Tehran defended the strikes as a legitimate act of self-defense. US President Donald Trump said that Washington would respond with more sanctions while reserving the right to take further military action against Iran in the future.

The escalation has prompted calls from the international community for an easing of US-Iran tensions.

A senior Iranian commander has threatened the country will take "harsher revenge soon" after missile attacks on US targets in Iraq.

Iranian news agency Tasnim reported the deputy leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, Ali Fadavi, said the missile attacks on Iraqi bases which housed US troops showed "military might" and the US "couldn't do a damn thing".

Tehran fired at least 15 ballistic missiles at Al Asad and Erbil air bases in retaliation for the killing of top general Qasem Soleimani in an American drone strike.

Senior commander Abdollah Araghi threatened further Iranian reprisals after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that "military action is not enough."

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, who ordered the drone strike on the Iranian general, declared on Wednesday that Iran "appeared to be standing down" after their missile strikes that did not harm any US troops in Iraq.

Iran is doing nothing but just propaganda. They don't have the capability to strike US forces. They know if they kill single American solider, America will do "real surgical strikes" in Iran. Trump is giving them another chance to keep themselves in their skins.

I think that such statements are for domestic consumption, which also is the need of the politics.

For all those who are attacking Iran's stance .... I say at least they had the guts to pull the trigger. The world is taking note. Rome is not what it used to be
More than pulling the trigger it is the intent of killing or avenging that would have carried weight. You do pull triggers on the firing range many times but with no foes in sight. Same happened here

To me it largely means Iran ended up wasting 10 or 15 ballistic missiles rather than attaining any credibility

They are all little keyboard cowards who have something against Iran.
Iran can go and blow up shit and you will see the same comments from these people.

It takes courage to launch anything at an American target. Iran pulled it off and forced US of A to back off and talk peace.

I am yet to see that happen in Islamic Republics of Pakistan, the chosen one to fight the Ghazwa e Hind, who lays down flat upon a simple threat of being bombed to stone age and ends up providing all bases and support to attack fellow Muslims.
Who can only watch the Americans pull off a fake a Osama Bin Laden drama and get away with it unharmed.
Who can only allow American choppers to come kill its troops inside its own borders.

Chest Thumping? It takes courage to thump the chest.
Where is that courage in the "Qillah of Islam"?

It's called showing willingness, ability, and making a point.
You can keep your missiles at home and keep repainting them every year.
Should help a lot.

On the other hand, Iran just got to test them on American targets. And force Trump to imitate Obama and not a spoilt child on TV.

There are many hidden sectarian trolls who hate each other based on their sect. They are from Pakistan, Iran, other Middle East countries.

For common Pakistanis like me sub say pehlay Pakistan. Be it Iran or Arab they all have stabbed us in the back. Both are servants and @$$licker of bhart who is Pakistan's sore and core enemy. Neither have supported Pakistan on Kashmir openly. Both have trade deals with bhart.

But that should not mean that Pakistan should support death and destruction in these fellow Muslim countries. The leaders of Iran and Arab have failed on ummah concept but people is what make ummah in all these countries. So why would you want death and destruction in fellow ummatis? No more hate, death or destruction in this region.

Lolz look at all dumb iran fanboys, it doesnt require courage to attack US base when all is choreographed and pre planned with the americans and iraqis.

Such statements are for domestic consumption. For PR purposes. Both sides are backing off. Gen Suleimani would have probably recommended the same as well.
