TEHRAN, July 27 (MNA) – Iran and Turkey will increase their “security” cooperation, Osman Gunes, Turkey’s interior ministry's undersecretary for security affairs said here on Monday.


Speaking on the sidelines of the 13th joint security meeting in Tehran, Gunes told the reporters that the primary aim of this summit is to fight terrorism, discuss the security affairs of the two countries and the smuggling of drugs across the joint border.

The joint Iran-Turkey security meeting is held annually.

Gunes expressed hope that Tehran-Istanbul cooperation in all fields, particularly security increases more than before, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Pakistan should join Iran and Turkey security cooperation. We also need security on Iran-Pakistan pipeline which is under construction.
