Definitely a Big deal for Iran considering its current Aging Fleet. But is it really relevant in this age, considering Iran's Rival is Israel with state of the art Radar systems, SAMs and F35s.
But i have doubts regarding the on paper capabilities of Sukhoi Flankers now. It has not performed well at all during past 2 decades. It might be a potent machine in itself, but the supporting systems and avionics development require a lot of research, battle experience, Industry expertise and funding which Russian Industry lakes.
May be Iran can modify it if they are capable of that.
