The international nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, says Iran has put in place all the measures necessary to start implementing the nuclear deal, paving the way for the lifting of sanctions.

Yukiya amano it was "an important day for the international community".

The agency's inspectors on the ground had verified that Iran had carried out the measures required, he said.

A deal between Iran and world powers was agreed in July last year.

Lifting the international sanctions on Iran would unfreeze billions of dollars of assets and allow Iranian oil to be sold internationally.

could be used in creating nuclear weapons.

Iran has always maintained its programme is peaceful, but opponents of the deal - such as some US Republicans - say it does not do enough to ensure the country cannot develop a nuclear bomb.

. . . .
America is such a hypocrite.

They are so worried about Iran getting nukes, they invaded Iraq over fake WMD, they are basically using it as an excuse to militarily occupy the Middle East.

But then on the other side of the world, North Korea is testing Hydrogen bombs, and regularly threatening the US with nuclear attack:

North Korea threatens US with nuclear attack - Daily Mail Online

North Korea threatens to 'leave no Americans alive' - The Independent

The US are nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites. Double standards in every sphere.

N.Korea have nukes and can talk as much they wish as US already -possibly- have taken measures more than enough. But Iran doesn't have nukes so preventing it another development. US can be many things but stupid is not amongst them.

On topic, Iran finally understood that playing tough guy is not a smart act here. They are now being good boy and getting award by the very same West they criticized for years long. If they would continue their rebellious behaviour probably wouldn't see next decade..

how is it double standards ?

Clearly SK doesn't want US conducting strikes on NK because they will be on receiving end of their retalliation

Invading Iraq over fake WMD in 2003?

Why not apply the same standard to North Korea?

According to America, no rogue state can be allowed to ever possess nuclear weapons. Especially not those who have made it clear they intend to use them on America itself.

But it's just like their "red lines" in Syria, the South China sea, the Ukraine. I.e. All meaningless.

uhmmm I already said why

in addition, different presidents have different policies.

Like I said, they have already proven their red lines are meaningless.

So what exactly is there to stop Iran from developing their own nukes in the future? North Korea has proven that America isn't actually going to do anything, even after they tested a hydrogen bomb and promised to wipe America off the face of the Earth.

do you have comprehension problems? here is what I said

"Clearly SK doesn't want US conducting strikes on NK because they will be on receiving end of their retaliation"

as for Iran, if Iran does violate the deal and continue its nuclear program

US will have a different president with different policies and a huge justification to conduct strikes against Iran.

So America is not intervening in North Korea, because they only care about the welfare of South Korea?

I guess it has nothing to do with North Korea's stated intent to land hydrogen bombs on American soil, not South Korean soil?

Go sell that BS to someone else.

The bottom line is that if Iran develops nukes, America is going to make some excuse about protecting Israel/Turkey from nukes instead of South Korea, as for why they wouldn't intervene. But it's just an excuse, they were never going to do it in the first place.

BS? South Korea is one of the most important allies of the US, not to mention how the hell are they supposed to conduct strikes against North Korea without South Korean permission

US would need a joint operation with South Korea to also guarantee the security of nearly 30,000 troops.

Did you even read those links above?

North Korea threatened to nuke AMERICA, not South Korea. So your explanation that America is not intervening in order to protect South Korea is complete BS. They are protecting themselves.

Basic rule of geopolitics - Every country works for their own national interests.

From the way you talk, it's as if South Korea is calling the shots. Sorry, it's America who is the master in that relationship, same as the America-Turkey relationship. America is the one who calls the shots, not the other way around.

and? North Korea threatens South Korea as well.

it seems you lack the capacity to understand that if even North Korea loses its nuclear capability, they still have massive amount of artillery and missiles pointed at the South, which is exactly what I am talking about.

America has influence, but not that much influence to put up a nation to a war that will cost hundreds of thousands of lives.
