We don't know yet,it's still in initial design stage.I don't think it's still sufficient for us to design an indigenous engine,but it's a possibility,maybe they start designing it.It'll be a huge step forward.

The article says FEASIBILITY is complete for 150 planes.

What is stupid is that "Design and Manufacturing" has been clubbed in one phase, whereas they are complete different phases.

Secondly, Feasibility can not be complete without a sound design ( and thus accurate cost ).

Thirdly the market as of now is dominated by US & Europe. Russia has not been able to get a foot hold in spite of decades of experience and depth in Metallurgical, Engine, and electronic industry.

Because U.S and Europe cowardly don't sell passenger airplanes to Iran,they are scared if Iran may use the airplanes to build a nuclear weapon.
