Iran ex-president (Rafsanjani): Syria government launched gas attacks

http://www.todayszaman.com/news-325165-iran-ex-president-syria-government-launched-gas-attacks.html

Former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the Syrian government, a strong ally of Tehran, had carried out a chemical weapons attack against its own people, the semi-official Iranian Labour News Agency reported on Sunday.

His remarks differed sharply from those of other Iranian officials, who have said rebels trying to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad were responsible for a poison gas attack on the outskirts of Damascus on Aug. 21 that has drawn Western threats of military reprisals against the Syrian government.

"The people have been the target of a chemical attack by their own government and now they must also wait for an attack by foreigners," Rafsanjani said, according to ILNA.

"Right now America, the Western world along with some of the Arab countries are nearly issuing a clarion call for war in Syria - may God have mercy on the people of Syria," he said.

"The people of Syria have seen much damage in these two years, the prisons are overflowing and they've converted stadiums into prisons, more than 100,000 people killed and millions displaced show the plight of Syria more than ever before," he added.

Rafsanjani is a close ally of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and chairs Iran's Expediency Council, which advises Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iranian soldiers suffered chemical weapons attacks during the country's 1980-1988 war with Iraq, and Iran has repeatedly condemned their use.

My Analysis:
Rafsanjani does not have enough of intelligence to make a technical opinion but he is showing that his team is willing to cooperate with the west and even GCC. It is very important to take the remarks of Rafsanjani and Rouhani serious and work with them before they are weakened. If their foreign policy ends nowhere, they will get weakened the same way Khatami got weak.

There is no doubt that Assad was behind the chemo attack.

Im afraid that Rafsanjani is trying to play with his tail to see how far GCC and the west can go in dealing with the mullah. Interesting though if GCC and the west would give him a chance by providing some support of all kind, he might be able to topple the current regime. We have an embassy there he could reach if he is really interested.

Turkish newspaper?:omghaha: and yet you don't like to provide a single Iranian link for your claims?!!!. obviously this is the path all fellow of Zionists choose, lying and lying and lying.

and here is the Iranian link:
دولت مشكل بیكاری مردم را Ø*ل كند
but unfortunately for Zionists and their fellow he doesn't mention about the 'Syrian government' even for one time in his speech, why? because everyone in Iran knows chemical weapon has been provided by Saudi Arabia to F$A terrorists.

We will have to wait and see if the news being reported were 100% quote of Rafsanjani.

But anyway, Assad had used the chemo's for more than 12 times.

Funny thing is that these fake reporters used Rafsanjani for this fake news .
For God's sake who in his right mind will even allow himself for just a second believe mr. Rafsanjani will ever say such things.

The guy even before saying hello to his wife will thinks over it for 10 time .

I don't understand why Assad launched this Chemical Attack in the first place.

First of all he knew that any use of Chemical Weapons would bring scorn from around the world and second of all he is winning.

Don't think too hard

Assad didn't use CWs.
