Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) disbands a terror cell in an area on the country’s border with Pakistan, killing four terrorists and wounding two others.

According to Press TV, the operation was carried out by the Quds Base of the IRGC’s Ground Forces in the Saravan border area in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Friday, the Corps said in a statement.

This came after intelligence operations revealed that the terror group, which was “linked to the global arrogance” intended to attack the Islamic Republic’s border posts from Pakistan, the statement added.

The outfit was ambushed and disbanded near one of the posts before managing to carry out any act of terror.

The rest of the terrorists fled deep into Pakistan, the IRGC said, noting that the operation failed to cause any casualties among the defense forces, while resulting in the capture of some weaponry, ammunition, and equipment.

The security forces monitor with alertness whatever movement by terrorist outfits and elements, which are hired by foreign intelligence services and seek to endanger the Iranian nations’ security, the statement read.

Such elements would be “dealt with decisively,” it concluded.

The IRGC says it maintains the entirety of the country’s soil and waters on its intelligence radar to stay prepared in the face of such malicious activities. It has also said it reserves the right to pursue intruders back into the countries they come from.

Well iranians should have co-ordinated the attack. We will never support anti iran or anti shia militaants or violence in pakistan. We would have captured the ones who ran back deep into pakistan. Sad matter is we can't put too much military on iran border as we dont percieve a threat from iran. Instead our armies are busy at indian and afghan border.
If iranians talk to pakistani authorities im sure pakistan will agree and facilitate iranian forces in hot pursuits inside pakistani terriroty. We see iran as a brother country. No one will have any problem if iranians talk about it with us. We can counter all terrorism together. Just as we think if we talk to iran they will agree to pakistani forces chasing terrorists into iranian territory. Both side militaries can do shared missions no doubt.

. . . .
Iran is welcome to carry out operations against terrorists inside Pakistan. al habibi yala yala

This Pak-Iran-Afhanistan border region is always very hot. Plus, Afghan camps inside Pakistan are huge problem , these camps are terrorist den. Pakistan govt has requested Afghan govt and UN many time to take back these Afghan, but always ask to wait. These refugee are real pain for Pakistan.

As much as you might love sectarian tensions, there is a new era of cooperation going on between Iran and Pakistan. we've discussed this border issue a million times already in this forum.

We're saying that terrorists should NOT run to Pakistan because they feel they're safer there, but most Pakistanis disagree and tell us that your army is preoccupied with India and things like that.

Putting that aside, i don't have anything against Pakistan and i find Pakistan a brother country. why not be friends? is really me being a shia a dealbreaker?

I agree with you but we are already fighting such groups and even our own troops have been attacked such terrorists groups sponsored by CIA and RAW and some of them even take refuge in Iran. Thus crossing the border won't help rather things will go steeply southwards so it is better to collaborate through intel sharing and establishing a hotline between the high ranking border security officials on both sides.

And this is why Iran is a snake. Making false allegations against Pakistan to please India.

Here's a recent incident, in 2016.
A notable gangster of Lyari Gang War, Uzair Baloch, who also holds Iranian nationality, was arrested in an intelligence-based operation by Sindh Rangers. In his hand-written confession, Baloch states that he was offered an all-expenses-paid residence in Tehran by Iran's Ministry of Intelligence officials in exchange for providing sensitive information regarding Pakistan Army's operations in Karachi. He says that the offer came through a third-party while he was staying in Iran's port city of Chabahar.

This is the same Iran which blames Pakistan for supporting a terrorist group operating in Iran that is Jundallah.

I think this is enough evidence that Iran is more cozy towards India and is happy to run the Indian narrative. Pakistan really shouldn't take Iran as allies, or even neutrals, rather as enemies.

no a deal breaker at all. and we have Shia brothers in pakistan too. and they are many and good friends with me and our family. Pakistan doesn't like sectarian divisions. im sure soon iranians will come to pakistan and ask us permission for hot pursuits. pakistan can even setup a quick reaction force and on notification we can assist iran with cornering them terrorists.
i think iran already is in process of allowing Pakistani Elite soldiers in hot pursuit of terrorists deep inside iran. but mostly iranians insist they can kill or capture these terrorists themselves as they have good military presence in those areas.

for pakistan its a huge piece of land with very little amount of people . i guess we can act when intel is provided and we can assist in killing those terrorists if notified timely.

Trust me the feelings are mutual, I have yet to meet a single Pakistani who'd hate Iran. Yes, there are people who don't agree with your policies and the way things are but that necessarily doesn't mean they consider you as an enemy. Majority of Pakistanis would love to have a warm and friendly relationship with Iran. Remember neighbors are permanent and can't be replaced so we must step aside from all our differences (though there are none) and increase our economic relations to new heights.

I certainly don't like Iran. Iran hasn't supported Pakistan's stance on Kashmir, never will, it would choose India over Pakistan as an ally any day. And this incident in 2016 should be a clear indicator of the Iranian agencies intentions.
