An Iranian man accused of Israeli links has been sentenced to death for killing one of the country's nuclear scientists, state media has reported.

Majid Jamali Fashi had confessed to the murder of physics professor Massoud Ali Mohammadi, from Tehran University, on 12 January 2010, news agency IRNA said.

Prosecutors accused him of detonating a bomb planted on a motorcycle outside Mr Mohammadi's home. They said he was paid by Israel's Mossad spy agency.

Israel does not comment on such claims.

Iran has accused Israel and the US of trying to harm its nuclear programme. The two countries believe Iran is trying to acquire the technology to build nuclear weapons, something Tehran vigorously denies.
'War against God'

IRNA quoted a judiciary spokesman as saying Mr Fashi had been condemned to death for "waging war against God" and being "corrupt on Earth", both capital offences under Iran's strict form of Islamic law.

Prosecutors had claimed Mr Fashi received $120,000 (£72,000) and training from Mossad.

In his confession, Mr Fashi had allegedly said he was ordered by Mossad to carry out five other killings but did not go through with them.

Mr Fashi has 20 days to appeal.

Several other Iranian scientists have been killed in recent months.

Another Tehran University physicist, Daryoush Rezaei, was shot dead outside his home in the Iranian capital in July, state media said.

Majid Shahriari, of the nuclear engineering department of Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, was killed last November, while another expert Fereydoon Abbasi was injured in an attack on the same day.

Reports said motorcyclists drove alongside the scientists' cars, attached magnetised bombs to the side of the vehicles, and then drove away.

@Respect4Respect01 You just wait... the US tried very very hard to engineer a regime change in Iran after their previous elections.

Pakistan didn't have people like Zardari ruling either - this guy could not even land in Pakistan without being jailed, due to several corruption/murder cases outstanding against him. Even internationally there were cases pending in several countries, notibly Switzerland, where the evidence against him and his wife was so overwhelming that their lawyer there had to resort out of desperation, to claim that Zardari was a mental patient. That, due to Zardari's several jail terms, he had developed numerous mental problems due to which he can't be held responsible for the actions he was guilty of doing.

It remains a seperate matter that those jail terms were in luxurious air-conditioned jails, the point is that things were getting pretty desperate for him and his wife as those cases in Switzerland(and other European courts) were progressing. Lucky for him, Uncle Sam found a need for him. And Uncle Sam can be very helpful - Uncle got his previous puppet Mushy to do an "NRO", billions of $$$ in corruption was forgiven. Mushy expected his masters would keep him along, after seeing how obedient and useful he was.

Turned out Zardari was much more obedient. So - we've never had people like zardari on the top either, I doubt if we could have achieved such democracy, without Uncle Sam lending us a hand here and there.

. .
Iranian authorities should tell us where he will be burried so then thousands of Iranians can go and piss on his grave

.
They should throw him into the sea in a religious ceromony befitting an israeli and tell the world AFTER they have done it

. .
and Pakistanis have no responsibility of keeping him in power?
People get the govt. they deserve.

Its well known that benazir before going back to pakistan went to america and promised them that she would encourage cross border violations of our sovnty. America then under the guise of democracy pressurised Mushi to do a deal with her and hold elections knowing that large parts of our electrate are not going to vote and it be likely they ppp would get in. Zardari invests the money he steals from pakistan and invests in america. America is complicit with zardari in stealing from the people of pakistan As far as getting the democ we deserve you aint doing too bad cos u need the likes of hazare to starve for u

Back to thread if these zionists are guilty they should be hanged

The Iranian govt came under a pretty brutal engineered regime-change effort. We shouldn't forget the election runner-up fellow leading huge rallies against the encumbent government, and all the western media hailing the resistance/rebellion.

Well said. Matter of fact, Zardari was installed by the US through an understanding between Musharraf and the US government.

These Mossad agents should be publicly humiliated before being publicly executed, just to make a point to our western friends.

Pakistan has a lot of interest in middle east, especially zionist etc.

They should concentrate on improving they country first. They should also learn from China, look how strong they are, they dont get involved.
