Iran decries raid on Pakistani Stock Exchange, urges global anti-terror fight

Iran has censured an attack that recently targeted Pakistan’s largest stock exchange, calling for closer regional and international cooperation to uproot terrorism.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi was reacting on Tuesday to the deadly attack a day earlier by heavily armed gunmen on the Pakistani Stock Exchange building located in a high security zone in Karachi.

“The only way to fundamentally fight the big challenge of terrorism is cooperation and convergence among all world countries, particularly those in the region,” the Iranian spokesperson said.

The attack saw four gunmen dressed in police uniforms attempt to storm the stock exchange building. They initially threw a grenade before opening fire on a security post outside the building, killing two private security guards and a police officer. Seven others sustained injuries.

Pakistani security forces quickly intervened and thwarted the raid, killing all the assailants.

The separatist Baloch Liberation Army from Balochistan claimed responsibility in a Twitter post.

In a Twitter post hours after the assault, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini roundly condemned the bloodshed, voicing support for Pakistan in its counter-terrorism efforts.

The already-defeated terrorists are resorting to such cowardly acts to portray themselves as powerful, he added.

Thank you Iran.

. . . . .
Thank you Iran.
dude do some reality check iranians and indian are behind this attack. idk what it takes for pakistanis to realize IRAN IS PAKISTAN'S ENEMY.

They have the same problem with these separatists as we do, it's like the Kurdish thing.
really? india has a big fat base in iran with only purpose is to sabotage cpec. LEAS arrested indian spy which used to operate from iran with knowledge of iranian authorities

. .
They actually spoke up more strongly than any other state.
You can have your opinion.
this is just diplomacy to be involved in attack and condemning attack at the same time. they do all kind of dirty stuff on behest of india ag pakistan. does chahbhar and kulbushan ring any bells in your head?

Watch how you speak to me, don’t shove your stuff down the throat of others. If you can’t speak with any respect I’ll respond even worse. You get that?

Yes those things happened, but do you realise that the UAE has had such elements among them for decades as well? What’s your opinion there?
If you want to create multiple fronts, how does that help Pakistan?

I think Iran is playing a double game with Pakistan.

Won't be surprised if later down the road we find out Iran staged an attack on themselves to play the wolf in sheep's clothing to Pakistan.

Thank you Iran.
Short term memory loss???
A year ago around 27 Feb the Iranians were bouncing up and down together with the Indians.

Granted they later were snubbed by India when Iran asked them to continue buying oil despite JCPOA falling through. But India tossed them aside.

Iran only has luke warm relations with Pakistan. The crazy mullahs are too javked up on takfirism and Iranian super nationalism.

But if Iran really has changed it's dubious ways the great!

A few months back there was an attempt to reignite sectarian violence in Pakistan again. I remember vaguely. But I do remember hearing about it.

I think iran has slowly started to smell the coffee. Delhi's hatemongering alarms its friends and neutrals alike.

.
It could be that India/RAW more specifically might have covertly taken a more pro US/Israel stance and begun active belligerent attacks on Iran???

Still I feel uneasy with this begin again relationship of Pakistan and Iran.

We absolutely need Iran on our side. They have more similarity with us rather than Hindustanis. We both are muslims among other similarities.
