Iran claims it has the ability to make a copy of captured CIA drone

TEHRAN, Iran – A senior Iranian lawmaker says Tehran can now manufacture a copy of an advanced CIA spy drone captured last year.
Avaz Heidarpour, who sits on parliament's national security committee, says experts have reverse-engineered the RQ-170 Sentinel craft and Iran now is capable of launching a production line for the unmanned aircraft.
His remarks were posted on the parliament's website, icana.ir, on Wednesday.
Iranian officials frequently announce technological and military breakthroughs, most of which are impossible to confirm independently.
Heidarpour's comment comes two days after Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it decoded all data from the drone that went down in December 2011 near Iran's eastern border with Afghanistan.
Last week, the Guard claimed it captured another U.S. drone after it entered Iranian airspace over the Persian Gulf.

in attention to what happened during the last 30 years. i think the most problem for them to produce a decent fighter jet is an engine.
today, no one has F14 except iran, even US eliminated all her F-14s to avoid Iran to access the spare parts. but They are still flying in iran and it seems they are producing many parts of F14. another problem is their money. the economy of iran is weak nowadays and they have not enough money to start a big project to build an engine and mass production of fighter jets.
These days Iran focuses on Air defense and Navy.

Don't forget that Iran has the knowledge of designing UAVs and there are lots of them being used here .when a country wanna copy something it has to have the knowledge and least information about that which Iran has .

Iran's not working on Fighter jets as its a waste right now and every single person knows that Iran can't compete with US and NATO in this case . Iran's military is based on missile power which is advancing so fast here and that's why no one risk to attack Iran cos there will be no sign of Zionism in the world in a couple of hours .
