INTERESTING!! These are all of the OLD names of Pakistan cities

Here is something really interesting that many of you probably never knew about. These are the old names of major cities in Pakistan.

I checked most of these. In fact, they ARE true.

With the exception of Kalanchi, it is in fact Kolanchi. I could be wrong. It also had the name Debal during Umayyad Empire days.

Lahore is a really weird one. It went backwards from an Islamic name (perhaps during a Mughal/Afghan Empire) to a Hindu name.

If you don’t like a name change, which one would you revert? If you would like to rename any other city, which one and what do you want to rename it? What are your thoughts and opinions on this matter?

The name Mahmud Pur comes from Mahmud Ghaznavi, since he was the founder of modern-day Lahore (the inhabitants of old Lahore mostly ran away to Hindustan, but the few remaining were killed/enslaved and old Lahore was then torched before being rebuilt).

Jacobabad should be rename to old one and make new name.
