India's map altered- GOOGLE's hypocrisy

Confession: This one is lifted straight from Dr.Subramanian swamy's FB pg.Not because I am a big fan of his but because I thought this time he made complete sense.

So this how GOOGLE shows India's map in different countries...

No I am not here to put the blame on GOOGLE.
Google is a company in USA and has to abide by its laws.
What these pictures would actually mean is that Kashmir is shown as a disputed area in whole which is not true.
Ideally where should Azad Kashmir and Aksai Chin belong??
I see this as the failure of Indian diplomats and a clear win for diplomats from our neighbor's side because Pakistan and China's boundaries 're never tampered with.
Is it because US is in neck deep debt to China??
Is GOOGLE to be blamed?
Is it fair to show the whole kashmir as a disputed area??

Last but not the least does Dr.Subramanian Swamy 've a bigger plan? Lol.
I need a few friends to help me and spare a lil time if they could.
@Chinese-Dragon could you confirm if the Google in China shows a map different from the one shown above??
If Google really operates in China is another doubt

The map here in Pakistan seems to be the same as it is in Germany. Don't know why Google is trolling.

If Google really operates in China is another doubt

Google does operate in China. It's just one of the very very few countries in the world where Google does NOT dominate the internet search market. Their market share in China is very low, only about 2% from the last time I checked.

Yes it shows all of Kashmir as a disputed area in UAE too.

Google does operate in China. It's just one of the very very few countries in the world where Google does NOT dominate the internet search market. Their market share in China is very low, only about 2% from the last time I checked.

I don't find anything wrong .

In India , they show the map according to Indian claims , same is the case with China and Pakistan .

In other countries , they show the areas as disputed and not belonging to anyone .

This was posted to reddit last evening, and Shanknaad got it from there Swami (and his followers) see all, know all

Basically it comes down to this. Each country defines their territory and has an accepted version of other countries maps, depending on their relationships. They will not tolerate someone else's world view (literally) invading their space. Hence companies will have to comply with these maps of the host country and alter them accordingly or forget about doing business there.(Ideally)
As you know, our Congi govt was sleeping for 10 years, when in reality it shouldve been doing something about this.But congress didnt really care about anything at all.

This was also in the news recently I&B slaps showcause notice to Al Jazeera TV channel for allegedly showing wrong India map - Economic Times So hopefully things will change.
You could use a proxy to check these maps yourself too if you want to.

I think 67 years is enough time period for Indians to understand that Kashmir is considered as a disputed territory world over and nobody believes in atoot ang and integral part theory outside India.

But then we know about famous Indian IQ which is certainly not the best to understand such issues.

I find nothing wrong with Google's policy here. Each country has it's own claim in Kashmir and google respects their territorial claims only within that particular Nation's boundaries. I see no reason why they should favour one country over another and stick to either India's or Pakistan's or China's narrative alone.

To a neutral observer, all of Kashmir's various claims are correctly represented. Remeber, Pakistan claims ALL of Kashmir, and hence Kashmir's southern boundary with Punjab and HP is also shown in dotted lines.

@levina You can watch these maps simply by changing the country code as well. For ex: maps.google.cn will show you the World map from China's pov, while maps.google.in will show you the World map from India's pov.

Not all of Kashmir is a disputed area. We still have our army and ppl there in Kashmir.Fine that it is autonomous but even the United nation calls it Indian administered kashmir.

If they were NOT favoring a particular country then GOOGLE would have shown the same map all over the world.
