India is a Hindu country. India was divided on the basis of religion in 1947. So India naturally became a Hindu country. Is the different method that we adopted the secular constitution and gave our minorities right. To my knowledge, Indian government since our independence have not forcefully acquired the properties and other assets of any Indian citizen by orchestrating a state sponsored pogrom and forced the minorities here to seek shelter in Bangladesh or Pakistan.
Agreed, that's how it should be, no one should automatically qualify for Indian citizenship by virtue of their religion only. But spare a thought for those who lost their near and dear ones in BD and had no other option but to come to India to save their dear lives.
