Here Modi conjures up an image of a divisive, shrewd, person with great gift-of gab, Hindutva harboring[his RSS background] anti-Muslim or anti-minority, all talks and no real policies, kind of person.

Many people do believe Pakistan-India relations will improve somewhere down the line, but media here has the opinion that is far fetched with RSS/VHP/Hindutva backed BJP in the center as of now.

But that is India's internal matter to pick and choose the right man for the right job...Modi may prove to be a great leader for India, time will tell.

You are denying figures by the World Bank and IMF. These growth figures have been accepted by economists around the world, which is why you only see some Pakistanis disputing
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-boost-for-modi-before-election-idUSKCN1LG1ZD
And yes, things are far from perfect in India, but they are improving rapidly under Modi. Already the majority of Indian villages are electrified, and many rural districts now have access to toilets.

I understand you hate Modi, which is fine, but you cannot deny the facts that standards of living for the people of India are better than Pakistan and are improving rapidly. BTW I want Pakistan to develop as well, and I think IMran Khan has a lot of potential, and has been doing a good job so far. Of course there are still many challenges for both our countries.

Many economists including your erstwhile Raghuram Rajan who was earlier the head of Reserve Bank of India, a learned economist from MIT, also questioned Modi-economics new GDP growth manipulations or rather new modalities and new calculations put into practice by Modi's economic team to boost/spur up the GDP growth figures, looks questionable and skewed to many independent economists.

Why Raghuram Rajan doesn’t trust India’s GDP numbers

As for other things you mentioned, I've actually no hate for Modi or for that matter anyone, it is more about not concerned, doesn't matter me kind of thing. India doesn't comes up in election campaigns and political discourse in Pakistan that often. You cannot get political mileage by that here, as one gets in India.

If India is progressing it is good for all the neighbors, and it goes for other countries as well.

but you cannot deny the facts that standards of living for the people of India are better than Pakistan and are improving rapidly.

This is again a sweeping statement and facts and figures doesn't gives weight to this claim. Pakistan has less multi dimensional poverty than India. Also wealth distribution is much better in Pakistan than India...

from the report, link below:

According to the 2016 Report, India has the highest multidimensional poverty after Afghanistan in South Asia. Nearly 54% of the Indian population is multidimensionally poor compared to 66% in Afghanistan. The poorest region in South Asia is Bihar, followed by ‘South’ Afghanistan. The poorest 15 subnational regions in South Asia are all in India or Afghanistan, plus one region (Baluchistan) of Pakistan.

There are more ‘Multidimensional poor people (421 mn) in the eight poorest Indian states (Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal) than in 26 poorest African countries combined (410 mn).

I know its hard to explain a person that doesnt want to see but buries his head in the sand like the dodo bird. But Pakistan is a non issue in Indian politics. Only reference you get is to to Pakistani terorism that too in border states. While elections in Paksitan are managed by your deep state just to make sure Pakistan continues its war with India.

Ill give you a sweeping statement. India people have better living conditions than Pakistan. Pakistan figures are a mess. You dont know how much your population is. You havent done a proper census in years. You have no economic data colection model. You have no social data collection model. All yoy have is sample surveys that bately reflect the reality. Wheresas India has proper mechanisms to get all this data. our per capita income growth is double yours. I think enough said.

And Raghuram rajan might have his doubt. But in todays world its hard to fudge your numbers and not get caught as a lot depends on Gdp. For eg your credit rating is affected by your gdp and financial institutions dont like to depend on just official figures for their analysis and have measures of their own.

China also likes India's rapid economic growth. This is be propitious to Asian and developing countries to resist the plundering of the European and American countries.

Congratulations!
Good. Thank you for your positivist towards India. But if i might add Europeans and Americans also had a significant hand in our development over the last 3 decades, keeping in mind whatever the British might have done in our history. Not being gracious to them would be immoral.

Of course there are always some outliers, but the overwhelming majority of international economists agree with our numbers. And I said that things are far from perfect in India, but still better than Pakistan. That is why India ranks better on HDI, which is used by developmental economists to rank a country's development.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_Human_Development_Index
As you can see, India ranks far ahead of Pakistan.
Here's the HDI list adjusted for inequality
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_inequality-adjusted_HDI
India ranks 91, Pakistan ranks 117
As for MDP, Pakistan does not do to well compared to India
https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/paki...-multidimensional-poverty-source-ophi.519014/
And that is not even considering other factors such as infant morality, maternal morality, years of expected schooling, etc.. But that is beside the point, as there are already several threads on that. My point is although it makes some Pakistanis unhappy, India is rapidly developing and uplifting its people out of poverty, and that is largely do to Modi, who a lot of Pakistanis dislike. BTW I do NOT hate Pakistan. I want it to develop, and I think Imran Khan is a promising leader for that task. But constantly attacking India and trying to put down its achievements will not help develop Pakistan.

8.2 percent Growth of GDP in real terms in Q1 of 2018-19 in line with momentum built in the economy & broad -based

The Central Statistics Office today released the estimates of GDP for the first quarter (Q1) of 2018-19. In line with momentum built in the economy, the growth of GDP in real terms in Q1 of 2018-19 is 8.2 per cent, reinforcing the high growth of 7.7 per cent recorded in last quarter of 2017-18. This growth is broad-based and has been driven by 8.4 per cent growth in consumption expenditure and 10.0 per cent growth in fixed investment. The latter development is particularly encouraging as it has come about over an impressive growth of 14.4 per cent in Q4 of 2017-18 and augurs well for future growth.

A look at the GVA in different sector points towards the fact that the growth of agriculture sector in Q1 of 2018-19 was robust at 5.3 per cent on top of 4.5 per cent growth in Q4 of the previous financial year. The growth of manufacturing sector GVA picked up significantly to 13.5 per cent in Q1 of 2018-19, as against negative growth of 1.8 per cent in Q1 of 2017-18. The construction sector GVA growth was 8.7 per cent in Q1 of 2018-19, as compared to 1.8 per cent in Q1 of 2017-18. The services sector continued to do well, building up on growth achieved last year.

All in all, despite some head-winds like higher crude oil prices, uncertainties on trade front due to protectionist tendencies in some countries, the Indian economy has performed well. We can expect the growth for the year as a whole to be very robust and India to be the fastest growing economy in the world.

In his tweet, Shri Subhash Chandra Garg , Secretary Department of Economic Affairs said “ Excellent growth performance in I qrtr. 8.2% overall growth, 13.5% growth in manufacturing and over 10% in capital formation. V shaped recovery of growth in Indian economy is complete now. We should grow at robust and steady state in 18-19 remaining fastest economy in World.”

Dr Hasmukh Adhia , Finance Secretary in his tweet said “. The GDP growth rate of 8.2% for the Q1 (April-June) of fiscal year 2018-19 indicates clearly that several structural reforms introduced such as GST have started giving rich dividends. The growth in manufacturing sector (13.5%) also indicates broad based recovery of demand. It has been a remarkable speed of economic recovery in the last 4 quarters- 6.3%, 7%, 7.7% and now 8.2%”.

Latest GDP Estimates reflect superior acceleration in India’s growth trajectory: Chairman, EAC-PM

The Central Statistics Office (CSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the estimates of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter (April- June) Q1 of 2018-19. As per the CSO, GDP growth rate estimates for April-June 2018 stand at 8.2%. These estimates represent a significant jump from last year’s Q1 growth rate estimates of 5.6%, indicating superior acceleration in India’s growth trajectory. This also validates that the economic fundamentals remain robust. The CSO estimates state that GDP at constant prices was Rs. 33.74 crores for Q1, 2018-19, a rise from of Rs. 31.18 lakh crores and Rs. 29.42 lakh crores for the same period in 2017-18 and 2016-17, respectively.

Welcoming this development, Dr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister (EAC-PM) attributed this positive trend to continued impetus on structural reforms and effective implementation of ongoing policy initiatives. He further stated that the focus on boosting capital spend in infrastructure sector and multiple initiatives to provide universal access to basic goods and services has not only contributed to this growth but has improved its quality as well.

He added that despite an uncertain international environment and volatile crude oil prices, India’s sustained growth reflects its strong resilience to adverse global conditions, because of strong economic fundamentals. The encouraging growth rates in agriculture, manufacturing and construction show that the growth momentum continues to be broad based. In addition, one also expects favourable monsoons to further boost agricultural output and rural consumption in the coming quarters.

I am not agree with him with all his policies but as of now he is only option India have .... Western part of India is growing rapidly then the eastern flank of country ...once the eastern part start progressing , the benefits of growth will reach the poorest of poor .... and after GST the growth rate was bound to increase and after demonetization they have doubled the number of tax payers .... but the bottom line is the day the people of districts like Kalahandi get a decent life , the defenition of growth completes ....

Its well know fact that southern states are well ahead in HDI or Industrialization or Literacy is because of dependence on fellow other southern states for their growth eg, Kerala gets the highest foreign remittance in India but Kerala is not Industrialized instead Kerala is dependent on Tamil Nadu for its vegetables and groceries. Tamil Nadu also manufactures and its a hub for ferrous & non ferrous metal products which is sold to Maharashtra & Karnataka for end product making and they are sold to Gujarat & Delhi. AP & Telangana is bread basket for all southern states. But, same thing is not happening is North India though West Bengal is industrialized its not felt on 7 Sisters States or Minerals of Orissa or Bihar is not reaching WB for making products & their by to be sold to consumer states like Gujarat or Maharashtra. Entire UP failed to emulate the development of Noida. There are areas where new governments can work on and more importantly to change the mentality better Education and Industrialization is needed instead of over dependence on Agriculture as Labours are moved to southern states in search of jobs.

GST has rationalized the tax rate which will encourage consumer states like Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat to look other states also where capacity to produce is exists.

Demonetization has increased the tax base and Govt should encourage and should try to bring or cover maximum people into the tax bracket their increase tax collections which can be used for betterment of people.

No doubt he is a messiah for RSS/Hindutva followers. For others he is big on rhetoric and less on action on ground. He is implementing what was not fulfilled by Congress government. GST was congress idea but he opposed it back then. I haven't seen a major reform in his four years.

Implementation of GST, LPG rebate tied with aadhar, demonetization of 500 and 1000 notes, increased tax compliance, corruption reduction measures are some of the once which proved positive for the economy and growth rate.

Where he failed is uplifting of poverty and distribution of wealth.

He was talking about using more data to calculate GDP.
