No one ever refers to Indian products as a paint job, however, it's the term INDIGENOUS that is often questioned.
@Windjammer
Indeed everyone has a right to "question" whatever they find objectionable provided they are able to back their claims with very strong and credible facts,research literature etc. Until then,the exercise of questioning would remain useless and shall bear no credibility whatsoever.
If for instance,you claim that certain missile system x has been designed in pakistan,then you should be in a position to specifically point out all the relevant patents,research that was carried out by concerned pakistani establishments.If you can not do that(which i am more than sure you cant),then in that case,kindly do not use the age old pakistani rhetoric-
"oh we dont publish research", or "oh,we get our job done miraculously". Because believe me these sentences might be very good for local consumption for pakistani populace but rest of the world believes in published literature and established capabilities
Coming to the question of development of JF-17,there are a lot of facilities that one would need in order to design a fighter jet,unfortunately a lot of them are simply not present in pakistan. But then again one might argue that mere absence of research facilities shouldnt be the only factor limiting factor or that pakistan might have taken the help of chinese labs. Either way,there must exist "pakistani research" in JF-17- if at all pakistan has really contributed in the design and development of that fighter.To be quite honest,itz like I claiming that pakfa or T-50 is india or has a significant indian contribution
