Indian PM Singh heads to China for talks - People's Daily Online April 12, 2011

India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is traveling to China, as the two countries look to boost economic ties. Singh will also attend a summit of BRICS emerging countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited India in December when the two governments agreed to increase their bilateral trade to US$100 billion by 2015, up from US$60 billion last year.

It is widely believed that an ever-increasing trade between Asia's largest two developing countries will accelerate prosperity of the two peoples, while leading Asia to new economic heights.

China is India's largest trading partner. Business deals worth more than US$16 billion were signed between the two during Wen's last entourage to India.

The two countries have agreed to expand co-operation in infrastructure, environment, information technology, telecommunications, investment and finance.

The two emerging economies have a lot to cooperate as they are complementary in economic structures, Chinese experts say.

same news, though differently covered in both the nation's,Chinese media focused on the BRIC meeting and Sino-India trade, while India media focused at visa stapling(not stapled this time) related with 4 journalists travelling with MMS.

Though India media is little pragmatic this time.

Good news

We need to engage with each other on economic front. Stronger the economic relations btw India and china makes lesser the chance's of any confrontation. There are so many benifits which India and china can get from each other, India on one hand will get good quality products at lower price's and china on other hand will get a huge market of 1.2 billion ppl right next on it's door. Other then this we can benifit from china's expertise of creating world class infrastructure. And as we all know India is now poised to spend almost $1 trillion on infrastructure projects in next decade so i think chiness company's will get benifit from this also if we will co-operate with each other more and more.

Moral of my post is we both can exploit and and benifit from each other resources and potential. Lets hope these devolpments will help in making our relation with china stronger and deeper.
