MANAMA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday was honoured with "The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance" as he held talks with King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on various bilateral and regional issues.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bahrain is significant as it is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to the country.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance. This was announced by His Majesty the King of Bahrain," the Prime Minister's Office said in a tweet.

PM Modi is on the third leg of his three-nation tour to France, the UAE and Bahrain.

PM Modi arrived in the country after wrapping up his visit to the UAE where he held talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed measures to improve trade and cultural ties between the two countries.

PM Modi was also honoured with the ''Order of Zayed'', the UAE's highest civilian award, as a mark of appreciation for his efforts to boost bilateral ties between the two nations.

From Bahrain, PM Modi is scheduled to return to France on Sunday to attend the G7 Summit meeting.

. . . .
This is the ultimate truth and the right conclusion to make from this recent middle east hungama.

We can all vent as much as much as we like - myself especially - but once the dust settles, we should be well aware that we took our eye off the ball for far too long. We fed sharifs and bhuttos biryani while indians played smart in the gulf. Credit where it is due. I only hope we have learned our lessons.

This should serve as eye opener for emotional Pakistanis as to relying on others. Put the head down get rid of the loans and be self reliant.
It will be neither quick nor easy.
Actually this was the post I was replying to.

I can understand the UAE and Pakistan thing for Yemen...But what is this Baharin relation with reapect to Pakistan...This is just confusing

When we've done that then we should remember who did what when innocent Kashmiris were being oppressed and slaughtered by the very same Hindu fanatic now being honoured.
What goes round, comes round.

Someone mentioned on another thread. It is probably more to do with keeping India away from iranian influence, rather than just to spite Pakistan. US hawks have given some clear instructions to their mideast vassals.

Such a shame, I honestly thought Pakistan was very important for a minute there.

Gulf has successfully supported us at diplomatic level in recent times...Usually people like me has always soft corner for Iran amongst Muslim countries...But i beleive after advent of Modi, Arab nations are able to change the perception of Indian public from Iran to UAE..I can see a bleak future of Iran Indi relation with respect to trade and economic fronts in coming days..

It wasn’t just the UAE that was cheesed off, it was the entire GCC coalition. Bahrain is essentially Saudi Arabia’s vassal state and used both as an alternative messaging ground and party town.

This has less to do with Pakistan in Yemen and more to do with securing Indian funds for investment as the west gets more and more irate with the crown prince.
