The force behind the success of democracy......

Every channel/paper is concerned about Modi, Sonia, Rahul, Kejriwal, Laalu, Mulayam etc. But no one is discussing about deaths of CRPF personnel during this election process. So far about 50 men of only CRPF have sacrificed their lives in fighting naxals n insurgents in IED blasts during the election process only till now.
Scores hv been injured n battling for their life in different hospitals.

More than 200 IEDs n bombs have been recovered by CRPF so far. CRPF n COBRA troops r walking miles n miles in jungles in naxal affected areas to ensure peaceful polls, where no other govt agency is available. CRPF n other paramilitary forces r moving across the country n very often they don't get even reasonable place for stay n even food on time.

Its because of their selfless service that country men can exercise their right to vote without fear n democracy is upheld. Atleast countrymen should know, that these elections r not only about bakwas bayanbaazi of some of our great leaders. Someone away from all this is fighting with anti national forces to ensure the success of democracy n sacrificing his life. Country must come forward to appreciate it and pay homage to our brave martyrs.

After elections so many people n agencies will come forward to take the credit of success of poll process. MHA, Election Commission, State Admn/Police, Observers will claim it but the real people who actually worked on ground will be forgotten.

Only few people of nation would about these facts, And bravery and sacrifice of these heroes would be lost in the dirty game of politics.

So plz think on it that how a government is formed. Neither manifestos, Nor campaigning, but it's the blood of our brave men of paramilitary forces, who make countrymen feel secure, when they come to cast their vote. Nobody do anything for them.

If a single army, navy or air force personnel die. It is presented in such a way that entire nation comes with them and join them in their moaning for their martyr. Further under people sentiments govt becomes bound to provide more budgets, facilities and power to defence personnels.

Every martyr is respected there in army. There would have had press note released in all national dailys. Whereas in paramilitary, 1 year guest Head of force who is generally an about to retire senior IPS officer. He don't even feels like to do a press conference and tell the nation about these martyr's sacifices. Had these many casualties happened in army even President and Prime Minister would have issued condolence statements. But here not even a local MP gives any statement.

CRPF people are fighting a war every day, every moment for this nation. Their number in sacrifice is higher by folds than entire army, airforce or navy in any peacetime year since last many years but nobody cares for them.

Other defence establishments inorder to make sure that they should be always considered superior and also given enormous budgets keeps questioning CRPF training without knowing that gorilla fighting is a different ball game.

Superpower America came back home with bleeding nose from Vietnam. N no offence but I would like to ask this question from army officials questioning CRPF's training thay why it took an entire army corps, 15 days in Keran sector encounter to kill 11 militants in guerilla fight whereas other 19 militants escaped.

By no recognition at all, morale of CRPF and other forces is at its lowest point.

Government is aquiring billion of dollars of equipment for army, navy and airforce. But MHA cites financial problem to even provide funds to buy Rs 23 Odomos mosquito repellants to these paramilitary personnels. It was only after the news reports about shabby living conditions and many deaths by malaria in media that forced govt to provide fund anti - malaria intiatives.

Here in paramilitary there are no funds to buy even fans and cooler for summers but it has funds to buy Rafael. I wish that they just buy one less number of this Rafael as this will provide atleast fan n bed to entire CRPF personnels.

Govt and defence fanboys have different priority for allocating funds right now. But their myopia in realising the gravity of problem coming in future is going to cost this nation badly.

In almost all part of India there is demand of a seperate state or autonomy. Be it Kashmir, Assam, Nagaland, Gorkhaland, Punjab, Naxal belt which stretches to 16 states.

But govt focus is on foreign acquisition not modernising or even providing basic amenities to CRPF personnels because of huge commissions involved in those defence deals.

Fanboys may not agree with this argument but what will these aquisitions defend if there is no nation to defend.

CRPF and other paramilitary which is single handedly striving hard to protect the integrity of this nation is facing huge exodus of capable officer and other ranks because of unworkable conditions, low pay and no family life. An CRPF officer putting his life in danger and fighting naxals gets Rs 13000 less pay than any Army Officer.

Not many would be knowing that unlike army, navy and airforce, paramilitary personnels don't get pension if they are recruited after 2004. Their family would get pension only if they are killed in action. Otherwise there is not even pension for them. Still there is huge exodus and they are leaving this job without any financial backing like pension. They are ready to starve instead of serving in paramilitary. So u can imagine how grim is the working conditions for them.

I know not many would agree to my points in this article but I would only request to all the readers to give due homage to those martyred in saving this nations integrity.

Use your senses and Do not pay attentions to silly reasons that why CRPF or any paramilitary personnel died, pseudo defence analyst give reasons like CRPF should have taken different route, moved tactically, should get better training, ignored intelligence input and many more bullshit reasons but om ground zero things are entirely different. Just remember nobody wants to die, they too have their kids and wife waiting for them back at home.

Just remember they gave their life for a united INDIA.....

Excellent article and a real eye-opener to the plight of those who're enduring perhaps the harshest of challenges, from within and without, amongst all our various Armed Services and Constabulary.

I don't expect much from the Government in this case. They have remained apathetic and will continue to do so.
Only hope is if the public awareness rises and media brings their stories to the limelight. Of course, a substantial amount of this space is hijacked by the likes of leftist intellectuals who claim the CRPF to be an instrument of fascist terror!

When a CRPF jawan kills a naxal, he becomes a villain. But when he dies, no big wig sheds their tears.

A WinterHilfe type program - from the population to the soldier should be put in place without delay - at least this much can be done quickly.

i had read this in FB page....the author write this with his blood...... but the reason for the current situation of CRPF is not MD it is this man
Sushilkumar_Shinde.JPG

joker of parliament...he is the one who has to take care of CRPF....

things i don't agree are:
the auther's remark on defense budget and AF's procurement....indian don't even provide proper funds to military too....our military faces same problem of CRPF....

army faces some hardcore terrorist who are well trained and equipped than our paramilitary forces...at least those CRPF are against some untrained maoists... army deployed in Kashmir and northeast only because CRPF and paramilitary forces can't mach those militants in those area... it is the army who bring down the militancy in kashmir.. cobra commandos are trained in armys schools and learns lessons from army's experiences in CI ops...

the worst problem is the lack of pension for CRPF... our government provide billions of rupees for polititions and for other unwanted things but then don't provide pension for CRPF

.
This is why the work of Ranvir Sena is so important! We risk our lives for India and relieve the stress of the CRPF.

Thats why Naxals gather bigger numbers everyday. That's why India is a cesspool of shit flowing the Ganges. Then we stuck with idiots like Sonia and Rahul, CONgress, the BJP, Mayawati....while a leader who actually get things done, can attract FDI, can transform India is sidelined. His name in case you are wondering is Modi. I like AAP but he need for this hour is MODI. Afterwards, AAP can run India. Only after Modi changes the Centre and states, and streamlines defence.

You are taking it wrong brother. Situation is very grim in outreached part of India. People there don't think they are Indian, they have dere own regional identity not Indian. There is ban in Assam on hindi songs and movie incidentally hindi is national language. People in kashmir wave Pakistan flag, some leader in Andhra said they want to be separated from India, People are asking for Gorkhaland, Punjab people outside India openly support Khalistan and there is a gorilla naxal movement and
They are asking for autonomy and incidentally declared several part of India independent of Indian control. Here when we are celebrating flashy aquisitions country is slipping fast out of Indian control. India is becoming slipping sand being hold in tight fisted palm.

COBRA is trained on Greyhound principle not army. An average CRPF Deputy Commandant( Major rank in army) has more insurgency operational experience than Lt Colonel rank officer in army. Please ask them their no of operation and hours they spent in operations, statics would tell you the fact.

And gorilla fight is different than what is in Kashmir. Army was never deployed to naxal area bcz they wanted AFSPA in all naxal states before operations and they market silly excuse that naxals are their countrymen. Then what are North eastern. Army is not flexible as paramilitary. Army will entire established centre before moving in unlike CRPF who can survive only if they find a handpump to cook food.

By d way CRPF is currently taking all law n order duty in Kashmir. Army is in camps, only RR comes out when their is pinpoint input abt hiding terrorist.

I am not against aquisitions but I am against the way funds are allocated. I get shocked when we celebrate on aquistion of any new toy but not discuss what is condition of men using it. No doubt there is increased number of fraticide in security forces.

There is definitely need of change in leadership. Populist decision and vote bank politics has make our India miserable.

I think this weakened democracy has too much freedom of speech, freedom enough to eat and live in this country and become traitor against India itself.

sadly its true. Nobody sheds tears for CRPF. Its not even big news.

Brother, I m sure before reading this article you have not known about number of casualties CRPF had in this elections.

N tears is far fetched atleast we sud recognise their sacrifice.

While I agree to some of the points mentioned in your post, the portion I have cut and pasted above needs to be clarified.

Why are there so many CRPF casualties? The answer is plain and simple.

> Lack of training
> Low morale
> Taking operations like patrolling etc for granted.
> Not adhering to Standard Operating Procedures.
> No road opening being done before move of convoys.
> Failing to secure high ground whilst moving.
> Lack of intel inputs.
> Using the same rout in, and out.
> Lack of leadership at all levels.
> Little or no incentives.
> Lack of proper equipment.
> Lack of coordination between different security forces operating in interstate Naxal belts.
> Lack of a clear overall strategy.

There's no getting away from these facts, however hard you may try to obfuscate these issues.

And you trying to say that a CRPF Dy Commandant has more experience of CI ops than a Lt Col of the Army? This is laughable! Do you even know WTF you are talking about? Officers of the Army spend more than half their service in counterinsurgency areas, and you compare their experience with the central police whom you say are more experienced and better trained than Army officers? I really don't know what you were smoking when you wrote this gem.

And you're comparing a rag tag circus of Naxals armed with shot guns, pipe guns and double barrel guns with the LeT/JeM etc who are armed to their teeth with sophisticated weapons including AKs, UBGLs, GPMGs, RLs, sat coms etc?

WTF are you talking about man? You haven't even faced a bullet in your life and you are ranting away as though you have tremendous experience in counter insurgency operations! Stop spreading crap out here.

The person you are responding to works in the CRPF - in the COBRA, if I remember correctly.

@vk17: Please clarify.

Sir, if you have any defence background I would send u a personal message wid more elaborate reply.

You said reasons for killing of CRPF personnels-
Low morale- definitely dat wat this article is about.
Lack of training- this statement pisses me off so srry for being rude. I wud say people sud go to training centre of any CRPF centre. Dey do everything n even more than wat a SF recruit sud do. Go to NSG dere army n paramilitary is trained together. U wud dem no less than anyone oder force.

About tactic I wud just tell you wat an army offficer said after coming back from COBRA operational briefing he said dese guys are much ahead in modern day counter insurgency planning than oder counterparts.

SOPs are only for books let it stay dere. I have elaborated it bfr also abt terrains problem in naxal belt.high grounds, goli ki aad etc is bullshit. High grnd also takes u to skyline n easy hence makes u target. I say just Do wat u think will keep u n ur men safe.

Abt operational experience I m not here for ny dick measuring competition. Being in operational area is different and doing operations is different. Kashmir n north east postings is considered peace posting in CRPF:agree: Also I said more experienced nt better or superior.

Vehicles dnt move widout ROP bhai n troops alwys move on foot even if dey have to walk 50-60 km.

N have told many times donot underestimate naxals advancement.
I have seen a Japanese naxal communication set wid VHF, UHF and interceptor all three in one small mobile sized set which was not even seen bfr by central technical team of CRPF. just study abt guerilla fighters, Cuban revolution, khmer Rouge n vietnam war u will know how an entire nations army and even america bent bfr guerilla fighters. Cobra is succesful bcz dey fight guerilla lyk guerilla.

The person you are responding to works in the CRPF - in the COBRA, if I remember correctly.

@vk17: Please clarify.

Yes I do sir!!

32 years. From Kashmir to the North East (Nagaland/Manipur/Mizoram), from Sri Lanka to UN Mission in Congo. Plus instructor in CI Ops.

Want more? How about Jungle warfare? Never mind. I can go on and on. You may be from the Cobras or whatever, but I've taught people like you for 6 long years. So I think I know WTF I'm talking about!
