Indian Navy ship arrives in Maldives to patrol EEZ

Indian Navy Ship (INS) Sukanya has arrived in the Maldives to monitor the Maldives Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), in a join effort with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
A MNDF media official revealed today that the ship arrived in the Maldives this morning and that it will conduct programs from the 23rd until the 26th of this month.
The official said that the main assignment of the ship would be monitor the Maldives EEZ.
This ship has come to the Maldives for three consecutive years through a joint effort by the Indian government and ourselves, to conduct maritime patrolling of the Maldivian waters, the official said.
The ship arrives in the Maldives on a monthly basis to conduct such patrols.
