Indian Navy rejects Tejas LCA, seeks alternative

.
Actually man, he might be using the one from the article that you provided in # 2?
http://thediplomat.com/2016/12/india-floats-radar-tender-for-light-combat-aircraft/

The Tejas supersonic, single-seat, single-engine multirole light fighter aircraft has been under development since 1983 by the Aeronautical Development Agency in cooperation with HAL in order to replace the IAF’s aging fleet of MiG-21 and MiG-23 aircraft with a domestically designed and produced light fighter jet.

17 + 17 = 34 and all these sorts of things!

Sorry and still good day, Tay

I am aware of it. But that was the founding of ADA, India's only defence aerospace R&D wing. This was supposed to produce some sort of, 'LCA'. But the first priority was to build a team, infrastructure, etc. for this aerospace wing. There was a big gap between HAL Marut, and Tejas, so whatever gain from Marut had to be gained back again. Not easy with India's industry at the time, or available capital.

Design actually started around the late 80s, full funding in the early 90s.

There's been wind tunnel models of the AMCA since 09, would you consider the start of the program then? It's only a concept without any full funding, a paper plane. ADA has given the final model to the GoI for full funding, prototype months ago, still a paper plane until then.

Even what AMCA had in 09 is more than LCA had in the 80s.

Procurement: India Declares An Ammo Emergency
November 21, 2016: India is again invoking its emergency FTP (Fast Track Procurement) procedures which enable immediate purchase of essential military items without the usual political and procurement delays that can add years, sometimes a decade or more, to obtaining needed items. In this case the FTP is being invoked to purchase a billion dollars of ammunition (mostly), small arms and replacement parts for some weapons. The urgency was triggered by the increasing possibility of a border war with Pakistan.

Havent you heard about the below invention ???

Read the below comments by some people ;)

Pakistanis couldn't make a scooter engine but talking about helicopter blade.Lol.

You are right we are far behind the the technological marvels like below :

Then ask you General who declared Kashmir as Shirak ...to come and get it ...as we dont even have ammunition ......

Sir you level of argument is far above for those who are here just to release frustration ..... just a humble suggestion dont waste you energy on those who never accept what ever logical points you put :)

Navy rejects Tejas, says ‘overweight’ fighter does not meet its requirements
TNN | Updated: Dec 2, 2016, 10.12 PM IST

  1. The Navy has rejected the naval version of the indigenous Tejas light combat aircraft
  2. Navy has said that the “overweight” fighter cannot optimally operate from aircraft carriers
NEW DELHI: The Navy has rejected the indigenous Tejas light combat aircraft, holding that the “overweight” fighter cannot optimally operate from aircraft carriers, and is now looking to induct an alternative fighter from abroad in the next five to six years.

The single-engine Tejas, which is “too heavy”, does not meet the “thrust-to-weight requirement to take off with a full fuel and arms load” from an aircraft carrier’s deck.

HAL has become a shame for the country as the institute has never delivered a single platform in time and have wasted millions of dollars. IAF says it is time to look beyond HAL and ultimately HAL should be closed.

Yeah well, your government says 1984 too ...

To better accomplish these goals, the government of India in 1984 decided to establish the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA)
to manage the LCA programme. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, (HAL) was to be the principal partner with participation of various DRDO
& CSIR Laboratories, Public & private sector industries and academic institutions.

http://www.tejas.gov.in/history/the-need.html
So I'll just use that as well, sorry really!
The question might be why, apart from IST,
was there a 23 years gap between the HF-24,
which I liked a lot BTW, and the LCA's entry?

And I'm already worried for AMCA, honestly!

Read you later, best to you, Tay.

BY 33 years I mean 33 years. I have proof of it. Indians have been working on LAC for 33 years and they come up with 2 display aircrafts that were made in France just to give boost to INDIANS.

The government says what I said, ADA was founded then. I gave the nitty, gritty which went completely over your head.

There were several, several designs ment after Marut ---

https://defence.pk/threads/fighter-jet-proposals-after-hal-marut-before-hal-tejas.293471/

But all reject. Shouldnt have happened that way.

ADA, the only R&D aerospace wing was created with a big gap from Marut, which had to be rebuilt. Infrastructure, human resource, capital was all limited, or had to build up. That was the priority. Not easy for India at that time. Full funding happened in the 90s for the LCA.

What AMCA had in 09, was a lot more than what LCA had much of the 80s. AMCA is still a paper plane, until gov gives the full funding.

Sir we are not a first world country we are a developing country with a lot of problems we can only try , which we are doing ..... time is a factor but attitude is what matters the most

I'll use the above to answer both :

India is fine and not lacking in abilities
and yes it has a lot on its plate but ...

what matters the most is fixing the attitude towards the time factor.

There is no disrespect in saying so,
it's as sincere advice as you'll get.

All the best to you and yours, Tay.

.
I agree with you , some lessons you learn the hard way ...... We still have Sarkari attitude in govt orgs ...while privates are giving far better results ..time are changing so the attitude ...just for ex.
Bharat Forget made one artillery gun after it Tata made one now even OFB has its own gun .......... Times are not as they were in 1983 and now govt is more interested in creating the local eco system of defence industry then making millions in foreign defence deals
