Indian Navy kicks the butt

Why not make do with nicotine gum??

Because it is in-effective in front of smoking. The fastest way to get a 'stimulant' like Nicotine, to you brain is if you smoke or snort and it goes directly in your bloodstream to the brain. The gum is more like a slower version.....you never get the nicotine fix......that is why if you quit smoking and smoke after a while, the first puff will make your mind go crazy......once you are on a stimulant, you brain needs that dosage....the nicotine gum provides less of that...so a smoker like me notices nothing.

I know the medical/pharmological basis of ur assertion but atleast an alternative is there. In my opinion its near to impossible to try and leave smoking completely.

I have seen many try and ultimately fail,,thank god i stayed away.Life is already complicated,u don't need another addiction:P

It is all in your mind mate...... I used to smoke, and used to smoke more than 10 a day...... Come dec 31st it is going to be 1 year since i took my last puff.....

The trick to quitting for good is to remember that it takes only one cigarette to get back to smoking full time. Remind yourself that and stay away from it.

It's been 10 years since I quit but I still sometimes think of how good it would feel if I had a cigarette. I am paranoid about becoming a smoker again.

I know......but sometimes in stressful situations, i do crave a cig. Otherwise, i can go hours without any...the moment i see someone smoking on TV or with friends......automatically my mind triggers that craving. I remember.....i had not smoked for 4 days...and then i was watching a movie in the cinema with my friends.......the actor was smoking....and all of a sudden i had this anxiety. It was such a bad feeling....that i got hooked again.

But it is a very bad habit.....so much so.....it affects me physically....my golf swing is affected badly....i need deep breaths to maintain my posture and impact through the ball.

Kudos for quitting.......i guess one year is good enough......just don't go back!!

You should have seen Rajinikanth Smoking Cigarettes... Youtube some vidoes on him regarding cigarettes.
