The 42-year-old lawmaker from West Bengal's Krishnanagar is a former investment banker.

"You may say that acche din are here and that the sun will never set on the Indian Empire that the government is seeking to build. But then, you are missing the signs. Only if you open your eyes, you will see there are signs everywhere that this country is being torn apart," she had said.

I like her...she’s a strong orator and seems to speak with facts rather than conjecture..
The kind of liberal debate we need in our parliament!

Hope she gets far in this world of politics.

Isn't she the one who flipped Arnab in the TV debate ? Not a fan of Arnab, but not a fan of such antics as well.

If only the opposition could find someone who could speak like that, in Hindi.

No idea. This is the first I’m seeing of her.

The anchor was clearly trolling, and the lady lost her cool (understandable). Yes, she should have walked out in protest instead.

Still, this blunder does not suggest that she is not a decent woman and her views should be ignored. Allow her to speak her mind and then critic her views - is the correct approach.

I liked her speech but she needs to behave more decently especially on national TV. Anyway, she can be a force to reckon with for the opposition. Problem is she speaks in English and won't be able to connect with the masses the way someone like Modi who speaks in Hindi can.
