The Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz on Monday said that the supersonic interceptor missile recently developed and tested by Indian would disturb the balance of power in the region.

In an interview with the state-run Radio Pakistan, Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan is not oblivious to its defence and that it would also continue to upgrade its defensive capabilities.

"Pakistan will definitely acquire advanced technology to improve its defence," said Aziz.

The PM's advisor said India was enjoying the cooperation of the United States as Washington believes a strong India is vital to contain rival China.

But Aziz said that Pakistan would also "raise its voice at the international level against these developments" that will shake up the regional balance.

India test fires supersonic interceptor missile

On Sunday, India successfully test fired its indigenously developed supersonic interceptor missile capable of destroying incoming hostile ballistic missiles from a test range off Odisha coast.

The interceptor missile was tested by engaging a target missile – a naval version of the Indian Prithvi missile – launched from a ship anchored inside the Bay of Bengal fired on a hostile ballistic missile trajectory.

Getting signals from tracking radars, the interceptor Advanced Air Defence (AAD) missile positioned at Abdul Kalam island destroyed the incoming hostile missile in mid-air in an endo-atmospheric altitude.

According to Indian media reports, the interceptor is a 7.5 meter long single-stage solid rocket-propelled guided missile equipped with a navigation system, a hi-tech computer, and an electro mechanical activator.

The interceptor missile had its own mobile launcher secure data-link for interception, independent tracking and homing capabilities, and sophisticated radars, Indian officials were quoted as saying.

What are we going to do about that ? how about Extended ranger CM's ? ?

lol
i think he meant
MIRVS
Jaisey NASA kay hotey hain :D par can they detect terrain hugging cruise missile?
From what i have heard they are only effective against ballistics

The pressure is indeed on Pakistan. First the test from Submarine assuring a second strike capability and now an ABM test.

If you actually read the details of the "successful" test, it was not a live up test and in fact was mostly bull shit. It simply got onto simulated "intercept" trajectory and was declared a "success". Its has not shown

1) Ability to actually engage the target
2) Capabilities of the seeker
3) Capabilities of the RADAR if any.

Yeah, this is a big **yawn**.

Yes they are effective gaint ballistics , but against MIRVs they effectiveness comes into question. And yes if they can detect babur or raad, they can shoot it down. If u r talking about NASA, they probably wouldnt even need to shoot it down:P

mirv's only useful for long flights, when multiple warheads get out of the missile , it won't be effective if the interceptor will get to it before the final phase

I do not know about military stuff a lot.. but what a poor title, they will do whatever in their power to defend their land but it will surely take us further to develop or gain something better to counter the threat...

I hardly see this kind of attitude with pakistanis now a days, instead of discussing on tackling and developing the system, senior leaders act like whiny brats.India will do what it wants to do, pakistan should too.
