That's a good news. But then why the hell is it so hot already in March?

Planting trees in eastern flank doesn't make sense. The hot air is coming from Rajasthan/Gujarat sides. That's where the soil needs to be reclaimed and using modern technologies, have trees planted. Whatever species of trees that kind of climate can withstand.

If the people of these states do this along with government support, in 10 years we can see cooler desert states in India.

What Trump does in US is not really important to Asia as a whole. We Asian countries need to worry more about the climate change issues because we are more densely populated than North America and with lesser resources.

Logging needs to be banned, firstly.

All loggers must be given a year's time to either continue as finished goods manufacturers or something else. We can always import wood from Russia, while use artificial wood for majority of our purposes. I don't see why only sandalwood has to be restricted given that we are losing a lot of arable and green areas.

Eh climate change does not work that way.. What happens in the US may adversely affect elsewhere across the globe i.e: Northern Australia, Even though it may have lesser effect in the US itself, The US, China and India along with Western Europe are the biggest contributors of green house gases

I know how it works.

The point is, we cannot stop Trump from screwing his territory, unless of course the world goes crazy and unitedly sanctions him. Which won't happen.

So it is better to deal with climate change in our own respective regions and let Asian countries collaborate to check on re-forestation and better technologies for water management.

Can we use desalination method on the ocean near Gujarat and transfer the water from there to the dessert area and let it flood to create fertile land. This will let nature to regain the lost land.

Nope, shipping desalined water across to Rajasthan would be way too costly.

Reclaiming the arid desert lands is a very costly and time consuming affair but there are many other things that India can do - starting with coastal mangrove restoration projects and reforestation in places which already receive sufficient precipitation.

Although I think the recent heat waves are a global warming phenomenon, increasing tree cover in villages and towns can have a cooling effect. But it all needs to start first with efficient water management - especially the rain water harvesting and using treated effluents to grow green cover in and around urban areas.
